Durham University Business School offers 20 ensuite Double guest bedrooms which are available to guests visiting both the University & city of Durham year round.
The newly refurbished Business School is located a twenty minute walk from the city centre, with on site car parking and offers a convenient base from which to explore the city. It is located only a few minutes walk from University attractions such as the Botanical Garden and the Oriental Museum.
The modern bedrooms include a double bed, ensuite shower rooms, tea/coffee making facilities and colour television.
History to the present day
Durham University Business School is part of Durham University, and one of the longest established business schools in the UK. There are currently over 1,800 undergraduate and post graduate students studying with the school and over 90 different nationalities are represented.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is included in the price of the rooms, and is served between 08.00am and 09.00am in the dining room at the school. English Breakfast is available Monday to Friday mornings and a Continental Breakfast Saturday & Sunday mornings.
Grounds and gardens
The Business School is built around a central quadrangle in which guests can relax. Alternatively the University Botanic Garden is only a short walk away or guests can take a stroll down the hill and along the banks of the River Wear in the heart of Durham City.
Wi-Fi access is available in the lounge and library (ask at reception for a login and password).

If you arrive from 5.30pm onwards you will need to ring the outside doorbell located to the right hand side of the foyer. This will page our duty porter, who will then let you into the building and check you into your room accordingly.
If you are arriving by car there is free car parking, however this is used by Staff and other guests of the school - so is subject to availability. Alternatively there is a park and ride car park located approximately 10 minutes walk from the college.
The business school is a 5 minute taxi ride (about £3) from Durham Station (which is on the east coast main line). All the taxi drivers know the Business School, so you won't need to give them directions.
Alternatively, if you're carrying light luggage, the walk from the Station through town is picturesque and will take about 30 minutes. There is a tourist map on the platform.

Mr George Brown, November 2013: My first contact (after booking on line) was was a telephone conversation wit Kath the receptionist,who was extremely helpful and pleasant. my next encounter was a week earlier on a recce mission with a porter named Jim.He showed me round the complex and explained the booking in procedure.both Jim then and Sid who was on reception on the day I booked in and the porter when I booked out ALL were very enthuiastic and obviously took a great pride in their job and the Business school buildings. One last thing on the Sunday morning in the restaurant for breakfast the young blond lady who was on duty, again went out of her way to make me welcome Well done everyone concerned.
