Set in 42 acres of open parkland in the north west corner of the city, Churchill College's location is a ten minute walk (or a short bus ride) from the historic city centre. Parking, which is at a premium in this city, is free and plentiful at our college. Please note, the College cannot accommodate pets.
Whilst not old like some other colleges, the light, generously proportioned rooms fulfill the needs of the modern traveller, including a spacious desk and free WiFi with a hospitality tray and toiletries.
History to the present day
Founded in 1958, Churchill College is the National and Commonwealth Memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. Nobel Prize winners Francis Crick, discoverer of the structure of DNA, and Anthony Hewish, the discoverer of the pulsar, were amongst its founding Fellows.
Food and Drinks
Full English and continental breakfasts are included and are served either in the college Buttery or the main Dining Hall.
For lunch and dinner, guests are welcome to use either the dining hall or the buttery on a cash basis subject to opening hours and occasional private bookings.
The Buttery bar is open throughout the day for snacks and drinks (subject to some restricted opening times). It provides the perfect space for catching-up with emails whilst relaxing with a refreshing drink, and a piano is available for those with a musical bent.
Grounds and gardens
Our spacious grounds are home to an extensive collection of contemporary sculptures from a variety of well-known artists. They provide the perfect backdrop for an hour or two relaxing in the sun with a cool drink and a good book.
Additional facilities for residents include an on-site laundry, a TV room, an all day bar and café (subject to some restricted opening times) and sports facilities including squash and tennis courts and a multi-gym. Sports equipment, irons and hair dryers can all be borrowed from the Porters' Lodge.
There is plentiful free parking on site.

Mrs Stella J, April 2016: We were made to feel very welcome by the Porter. The room was well equipped and the breakfast was fantastic.
Mr leslie M, March 2016: Very interesting enjoyable experience
Mrs CATHERINE W, March 2016: Very comfortable accommodation and interesting to stay in a college rather than an hotel. Would stay again
Dr Thisara W, March 2016: Convenient and suited my purpose of coming to Cambridge. Relived my University days.
Mrs Elizabeth M, March 2016: The room was spacious, light and very well-equipped (with a superb ensuite and shower). I particularly appreciated the provision of towels, toiletries and tea/coffee-making facilities. Everything was scrupulously clean - noticeably better than the standard in many hotels. Even though the room was near to the road, it was quiet.
Overall I enjoyed a very comfortable stay and would not hesitate to choose Churchill College again.
I don't eat breakfast, so can't comment on that.
Mr Vivian G, December 2015: Churchill college was a good place to stay. It is very convenient for the city centre. Although a modern building, it is set in a very quiet landscaped area. The room was basic but adequate for our needs. The breakfast was self-service and very well prepared. All staff were very helpful and friendly, especioally the porters. There was plenty of on site parking. Wifi reception was excellent.

Ms Tuija P, September 2015: Churchill College is an excellent place to stay in Cambridge. It's about 20 min walk from town by the 'backs' which is beautiful. The college is nice, the room was clean and the heating was on, which was great since the nights were chilly. The staff in the college were very helpful with any requests. Will definitely stay in Churchill again!
Dr Aliki K, September 2015: Amazing experience. Spacious room with toiletry set. Windows overlooking a garden. Great gardens! I highly recommend it. No comparison to other college accommodation. Much better overall!

Mr Jean B, September 2015: Thoroughly satisfied with our two night stay at Churchill College. Suited our needs admirably. Everything superb. Staff excellent. Surroundings very nice.
Ms AB L, September 2015: Porters very helpful and welcoming. Relaxing environment and gym facilities good and process for use very straightforward.
Ms Hildegard D, September 2015: Overall we really enjoyed our experience. Any limitations were down to the fact that the accommodation is a residential college and therefore will reflect the fact that it is actively used by students. The catering was good considering it was institutional catering. The grounds were lovely and the architecture really interesting
Prof Janine R, September 2015: A great facility, although the rooms were a bit cold, and sometimes noisy. But the staff and the overall spaces were great.
Mrs Anthea R, September 2015: Very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent gluten-free provision. Double bedroom very spacious and included a toiletry pack. Will be back and many thanks

Mr CHRIS E, September 2015: Great for a short stay in Cambridge. Staff helpful, breakfast great and a good base to visit the city.
Mrs Karen R, August 2015: we didn't have the breakfast. very conveniently located. good sized room and lovely grounds
Dr Valerio M, August 2015: thanks for bribging fresh milk :)
Mr Paul J, August 2015: We really appreciated the speedy preparation of our room so we could change for a wedding before the official check-in time. Thank you!
Dr Matthew J, August 2015: Breakfasts were really good.
Mr Christoph F, August 2015: Especially the porter was very kind and helpsome!
Miss Jayne G, August 2015: We really enjoyed our stay at Churchill College. We had a lovely double en suite room overlooking the green field. The atmosphere was friendly. Reminded us of our student days eating in the big refectory.
Mrs Eleanor H, August 2015: I loved your art works and enjoyed walking around the grounds. The staff in the porters' lodge were really helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
Mr Christopher T, August 2015:
Ms Nicole A, August 2015: The room was large and clean. The toilet and shower were clean as well. Breakfast was hearty and there were very good choices. I will say the cook responsible for ensuring there were eggs available did a poor job. Two out of three days myself or members of my group did not get eggs because they were not replenished in time. Other than that minor oversight, the stay was very enjoyable!
Mr Nicholas B, August 2015:
Dr Gordon W, August 2015: Very noisy bed springs which woke me on a couple of occasions , but otherwise excellent. Thank you.
Miss Becca V, August 2015: Great campus. Easy access to town- 15 minutes walking until you reach main town and river. Spent a very sunny evening drinking and chatting with friends by the campus field. Bedroom simple but clean and equipped with everything you need. Toilet flush wasn't in great working order. Porters friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Special thanks to the cook who did me a real favour in cooking me scrambled egg instead of fried.
Miss Lauren H, August 2015: Great place to stay! So convenient and very reasonable price!
Mrs Valerie R, August 2015:
Ms Geraldine B, August 2015:
Mr Nicholas C, August 2015:
Dr Paul S, August 2015: Loved the toiletries, and the cleanliness but not the lack of drinking water or a modesty curtain to allow the light in, yet allow one some privacy.
Staff at the desk:wonderfully customer focussed.
Mrs Margaret M, August 2015: Procedure for checking - in would have been good to have information prior to arriving
Map of Cambridge excellent but would have been more use if there was a key for the numbers
Thank you for an enjoyable time.......
Mrs Clare P S, August 2015:
Mr Patrick Rebsdorf W, August 2015: Fine place to stay, very quiet and great breakfast, no negatives at all. However, at a similar price I felt Downing college had nicer rooms and more central location.
Miss Lynda D, August 2015: Excellent stay at Churchill, we'll definitely be going back! The Porters were knowledgeable and welcoming. The only comment we'd make is that our toilet didn't flush very well. But there was another WC just outside our room. Beds were very comfy and breakfast was perfect. Thank you!
Mr Juan G, July 2015: Excellent!!!!!
Dr Sunday O, July 2015: The environment was welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and staff very professional. However, it took very long for the toilet to flush. The porter came and despite his willingness to help, could not solve the problem.
Mr Stephen P, July 2015: Very impressed. A slight muddle to begin with as we were accidentally given two rooms and had to go back to the Porter's Lodge to sort it out. Otherwise everything was very good. Just one very minor point - it would be good to provide decaf coffee.
Mr Filip P, July 2015: Wonderful stay. Thank you.
Miss Monica L, July 2015: Basic but very comfortable. very tasty meals, excellent value for money. Would have liked a tv in the room but there was a communal tv room so just a minor gripe really. On the whole, a very comfortable stay and would certainly stay again, or recommend to friends
Mr Alexis R, July 2015: Room was perfect, except the internet connection that was not fast enough to use Skype. Also, there was no hot water in the shower one morning during my stay.
Ms Catherine M, July 2015: front desk friendly in lending out an umbrella
rooms clean, pretty easy to get to
Miss Marika C, July 2015: The room was clean, well furnished and very spacious. The staff was very helpful and kind. The location also was good, just a 10-minute walk from the city centre. Breakfast was excellent. So, in short, I have nothing to complain about: I really enjoyed my stay and I would definitely recommend it.
Miss Elizabeth B, July 2015: Everyone was very polite and helpful.
I will stay at Churchill College again.
Ms Jacqui K, July 2015: The welcome was lovely, the guys at reception very friendly & incredibly helpful. The room was beautifully clean, basic but spotless. It was unseasonably cold & the room was a tad chilly. The only downside was the fact that there was no hot water in the morning. Apparently there was none on the whole site, so had to take a cold shower..shame as this was the only negative thing I have to say. It was just unfortunate though & I would definitely stay again & happily recommend others.
Miss Camila N, July 2015: It was a great experience and definitively I will consider the Churchill College for future short-term stays at Cambridge
Mrs Nicola B, July 2015: Particularly liked the choice of fresh fruit and plain yogurt for breakfast.
Instructions in advance would have have been helpful of where to find porter's lodge on arrival as well as where to park.
Mr Alastair B, July 2015: Brilliant! Many thanks
Ms Victoria M, July 2015: Good communication prior to arrival, easy to check in with porters, great location, would definitely stay at a Uni again. Great scupltures at the Uni!
Mrs Carole H, July 2015: This is the second time I have stayed at Churchill College. The rooms are and grounds are lovely.
Dr Colin G, July 2015: Very comfortable but basic room, student shower is what I had expected, excellent breakfast.
Mr John N, July 2015: Loved the college generally and the room was good. Light in the bathroom didn't seem to work.
Dr Bundit L, July 2015: Excellent value of money and environment
Mrs Anne L, July 2015: Welcoming staff. Room was comfortable and spacious. Good parking facilities and only 10 minutes walk to the town. Would definitely use again
Mr Jakob G, July 2015: Satisfied with everything, great breakfast.
Mrs Liz M, July 2015: Comfortable, quiet and clean with everything I needed.
Mr Trevor S, July 2015: Nice insight into university life in Cambridge :-)
Mrs Jane P, July 2015: I will definitely use this service again, and have already recommended it to others. I was very pleasantly surprised with the college accommodation, and believe me, I am very fussy about these things :-)
Mr Peter Y, July 2015: It was ideal for me - good location, clean, quiet and good value for the cost.
Mr Michel T, July 2015: The room was a bit worn-out. But the bed was fine. Only walking distance to the center of cambridge, which was excellent.
Mrs gemma H, July 2015: The room was nice and spacious. the breakfast was very tasty. the room was a little way from the main parking although we were shown where the overflow car park was. the walkways and stairwell were not very well lit for when we returned after our evening out, but this is not a major disadvantage. Overall the stay was very pleasant with a nice breakfast, i would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Mr Conor M, July 2015: I had a really enjoyable stay in Churchill College while in Cambridge for a conference. The booking was straightforward and I got a friendly welcome from the porters when I arrived. The room was quite simple and functional - single comfortable bed, a desk to work at, sink in the room. Lovely view out to the Hepworth sculpture on the lawn. Shower and toilet was shared, again very functional, not the ritz or anything but well kept and for a two night stay, more than adequate. The star of the show was breakfast in the dining hall, full continental and cooked breakfast items available. This was a great way to start the day and a better standard breakfast than many hotels I've stayed in actually. Overall, I just couldn't fault it and would recommend for anyone needing a place to stay in Cambridge and a top notch breakfast. Great value for money.
Mr ne j C, July 2015: What a beautifully designed space and surroundings. My spacious bedroom on the second floor had lovely views over the cricket grounds. A large window, and window seat allowed for peaceful contemplation over tea.
Breakfast quality was top notch, and delicious. Equally delish Lunch and dinner are served in the dining hall( not included in price) if you fancy.
The only negative ( only minor) is the mattress foam, which is little worn and thin- easily sorted.
Other than that- very happy visitor indeed, who would return/ recommend anyone to stay.
Ms Yuira Y, July 2015: I enjoyed the beautiful view from the window so much. Thank you!
Mrs Caroline M, July 2015: As the room was located on the 3rd floor it was extremely warm due to the very hot weather but the facilities were fantastic, good location and I would recommend.
Mrs Olena K, July 2015: very friendly and professional staff and porter.
Mr John D, July 2015: A thoroughly enjoyable stay and I'd like to come again.
Ruth Brown (visitor): John Denison made the booking.
Mr William K, July 2015: The room condition was good. The porters were helpful. The breakfast in the dining hall was excellent.
Miss Deborah M, June 2015: OK so you wont feel like you are in a Harry Potter movie set, but it was quiet, porters were cheerful and helpful, it is only a short walk to get to the centre of town, and there is no faff about parking. So overall good value for money.
Mrs Jan H, June 2015: Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would always recommend the facilities as excellent value for money.
Hopefully will be back before too long.
Mr Arnaud B, June 2015: Always enjoy staying at Churchill college.
Mrs Lynne R, June 2015: Overall, the accommodation was very good. These are university rooms therefore quite basic. The mattress on the bed was a little soft and lumpy for me, but I managed. I went to bed quite early, 9.30, because I was exhausted and was woken several times during the night by slamming doors. I think students had been having graduation ceremonies and therefore celebrating, I wasn't that bothered.
Having said all of that, the location of the accommodation and its proximity to Cambridge is excellent. Ample free parking on site which is a bonus. Porters Lodge were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was vast and kept me going all day.
An excellent, cheap way of visiting Cambridge.
Mr Jason G, June 2015: Beautiful college though a little walk into town (which is good for fitness!), great breakfast - lots of choice.
Mrs Judith O, June 2015: Porters were very helpful as I had booked for wrong day, but they still found me a room. Quiet location, good parking, easy walk into city. Excellent,
Mr Edward G, June 2015: Thank you to the whole team for being so accommodating and making us welcome!
Dr Catherine M N, June 2015: Really enjoyed my stay- room was large and comfortable, with plenty of storage space. Also, very quiet and peaceful- a pleasure overall.
Mr Simon L, June 2015: Staff at the porters lodge were very friendly and helpful.
Mr Thomas M, April 2015: I have no complaints at all. The only, to some possibly, negative is that Churchill is a ways from the centre of town. Not to me. I much enjoyed the walk to the centre, via the Backs. It also provided that much needed exercise!
Mrs Atsuko H, April 2015: I love big spaces, big windows, high ceiling of Churchill College, Cambridge building which was designed to well harmonize with nature, sunlight, flowers, etc...Room size is big with big windows. There are a big desk, and chairs, beds, small fridge, coffees teas making facilities, toiletries(hand wash, shampoo and conditioner, and bath and shower gel), towels, bathroom with powerful shower in our room. Please borrow a hairdryer in porters' lodge. This college serves the guests amazing breakfast for us in the special designed big dinning room. All staffs in this college are friendly, kind and helpful for us. My husband had stayed in this college when he was a Cambridge university student. I have been there sometime at that time. We have stayed in the room very comfortably and good memories with this college since then. We will definitely come back again. There are many beautiful natural places to enjoy taking a walk, lesson than 15 minutes walk to town centre, less thank 10 minutes walk to restaurants. Highly recommendation. Thank you very much.
Dr Simon T, April 2015: Very good, with polite and helpful porters lodge staff
Mr kevin S, March 2015: cannot find anything to grumble about, easy on line booking and huge en-suit room, very quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended and will definitely re-book again in the near future. Thanks Churchill College and Speedy-Booker!!!
Ms GULCIN A, March 2015: The staff was quite welcoming and the environment was epic. I am particularly grateful for their understanding and assist in swapping the rooms with my friend.
I would like to note that this feedback is left by Mr. Canberk Irimagzi.
Mr Richard N, January 2015: Fascinating as an experience ..1960's architecture on a grandiose scale...extraordinary alumni and achievements in just 50 years.....attentive staff with v. good esprit de corps...easy parking and just a stiff walk from the this wonderful town... rooms modern in appearance but heating in winter needs a rethink as with pillows etc. Overall wouldn't have missed the time spent there.
Mr Thomas H, December 2014: Our room included tea, coffee and piano facilities. A piano is now my new standard for a hotel room (buck up your ideas premier inn). The checkout time was a little early for my liking and the fried bread with the breakfast a little too enthusiastically cooked. However, the aforementioned piano more than made up for this comparatively minor in inconvenience. Top job.
Mrs Silvia E, October 2014: Nice Stay. Excellent value for money!
Dr Shelagh S, October 2014: A well-appointed student room, with a beautiful view over the gardens. The radio/alarm clock was an especially nice touch, but I was surprised that there was no bedside light. A strange omission in an otherwise very good experience.
Mr Andrew S, October 2014: A change of towels would have been preferred, other than that did we enjoy our stay very much.
Mr hamis M, October 2014: It was a great service and I loved the ambiance
Mrs Mary G, October 2014: pleasant surroundings,adequate room,good breakfast
Dr Josip G, October 2014: The only real let-down here was the quality of the bed. Very springy and very uncomfortable. Everything else was nice and as to be expected. In particular, the view and the window bench in the room were lovely.
Mr David G, September 2014: We had a really excellent time. I would choose to stay in a college any time I visit where you offer accommodation.
Mr Andrew G, September 2014: Breakfasts were not just excellent but superb.
Mr Chris H, September 2014: Only difficulty was the distance fron main car park, room and breakfast hall. But generally a good experience
Mr simon M, September 2014: Most Excellent.
Miss Laura R, September 2014: Thank you for having me! The room was excellent, as was the service provided throughout my stay, especially at the Porter's office. Churchill was the perfect distance from where I was working and from town - I will definitely book again next time I come to Cambridge!
Mr George C, September 2014: Very good experience from room booking to the service at the university. We shall certainly recommend university accommodation to family and friends.
Mr Alberto L, September 2014: I suggest this college for Cambridge.
Mr Sergio C, September 2014: Beautiful place!
Dr Mervyn C, September 2014: Good, clean and quiet ensuite room, with a particularly excellent breakfast buffet. Great value, too. The only thing to bear in mind is that the main car park is a 10-minute walk from the entrance to the college -- fine if you don't mind a little bit of exercise!
Dr Christopher N, September 2014: Porters in Cambridge colleges are generally excellent.
Mrs Diane C, September 2014: clean basic but really suited our needs - staff very friendly - breakfast was amazing
Prof Jan S, September 2014: I was very satisfied with my accommodation and all the services.
Mr Zhongchen C, September 2014: It is a pleasant experience.
Miss Wendy F, September 2014: I was very impressed with polie and helpful attitude of all staff and the servi.cing of the room
Mrs Ann K, August 2014: This was our fourth booking with Uni.rooms. Each time the service and quality of experience have bee really excellent value and a memorable experience all round.
Dr Rachel P, August 2014: Really enjoyed our stay, a great alternative to staying in a characterless hotel somewhere in Cambridge. I would choose to say in one of the University rooms again, and the grounds especially were so beautiful.
Mr Dmitry M, August 2014: Everything was fine. Liked the Churchill College very much
Mr Boris S, August 2014: Great job guys! I will definitely stay at Churchill again next time I am in Cambridge!
Mrs Margie M, August 2014: We very much enjoyed our stay at Churchill College. Everyone was very friendly and eager to help. We will definitely be returning!
Mr David H, August 2014: Excellent stay, good size clean room. Breakfast choice and quality was very good. Would definitely stay again
Mr Malcolm T, August 2014: We stayed in a Winston Room, which was very spacious and comfortable. The college is much larger and more modern than most Cambridge colleges, which has the advantage of modern comforts, plenty of parking space and very tranquil grounds while still quite close to the centre of Cambridge.
Ms Linda V, August 2014: The porter was very helpful and pleasant when we arrived and we were made to feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the breakfast and generally were very pleased with our experience.
Mrs clare M, August 2014: What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in an an extremely clean room, spacious and airy, with opening windows and nice views over landscaped park area. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable with good quality linens, so all in all we had a very good night's sleep. A nice little bag of shampoos etc was provided. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. Its also fairly central (5-min stroll through neighbouring colleges to the centre) with free parking. I can't fault this at all. I've stayed in hotels (not cheap ones either) in Cambridge before and thought this was far better. This will definitely be my first choice of accommodation next time I come.
Mrs Susan H, August 2014: Cannot comment on breakfast as we didn't stay long enough to enjoy it, but supper in the bar was great. The porters and bar staff were all excellent too. Thanks to all
Mr Eric A, August 2014: Excellent! Ill be booking again. Highly recommend
Prof Jim B, August 2014: Really enjoyed our stay. Pity we hit an unusually hot and humid spell as even with the fan it was hard to keep the room cool enough. An added bonus though was having a grand-stand view of cricket being played on two evenings!
Miss Natrah A, August 2014: Churchill College went out of their way to accommodate me.
Miss Cristiana S, August 2014: The rooms were tidy, clean, spacy with a good view to the garden. the breakfast offered a nice variety.
Miss Kathleen L, August 2014: STaff very friendly
Miss Beth R, August 2014: Me and my parents absolutely loved our night here! Easy to get to and near the city centre. Lovely rooms and amazing 60's style building. Beautiful grounds and very helpful porters. We will definitely stay here again! Highly recommend this accomodation :) a great way to experience Cambridge.
Mrs Rhian H, August 2014: Great stay with excellent breakfast. The tea/coffee facilities in room were much appreciated as well as the toiletries. Thank you.
Dr Farisa M, August 2014: friendly front desk/porters
Prof Elda W, August 2014: Had a wonderful stay. We would gladly go back there.
Mrs Christine C, August 2014: Peaceful surroundings, comfortable bed, great choice of breakfast food - I would certainly come again.
Ms Susan R, July 2014: Can't recall room number. I think the bathroom might need a bit of glue on trim near sink. We really enjoyed the room and thought the slippers were a great accompaniment to the towels. We kept on using them all through our month-long travels. We stayed in a number of hotels in UK and France; Churchill College rooms were right up there with the best, and way better than our London hotel. I will be recommending CC to friends who might be in the area.
Miss Zola D, July 2014: The gentlemen at Porter Lodge were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was perfect size, comfortable bed and I was very impressed with the shower. Breakfast was lovely with a great selection. Very pleased with my stay.
Miss Jane C, July 2014: I very much enjoyed staying in Churchill College as I have family connections with the university. However, I feel the price was too high for what was actually on offer (ie a very basic room and shared bathroom).
Mr CHOONG-YEOL K, July 2014: Very good. Specifically the calm and peaceful environment, and the wide and green playground. But the wifi internet was not perfect. The speed of the Internet was too late to watch BBC news programs.
Mr Tim M, July 2014: Superb Porters - very helpful
Dr Serge B, July 2014: No tv in the room, limited WIFI, but... to stay in a college is a wonderfull experience!
Mr Taffere T, July 2014: Staff efficient and pleasant. Breakfast superb. Parking a huge plus and the city centre only a short walk away. We will be back!
Mr JOHN C, July 2014: your ability to produce a wheelchair for my wife was invaluable because her mobility is restricted and we could not have managed without it.Very many thanks
Mrs Lynn Q, July 2014: We would visit again & recommend to friends.
The space & experience of the grounds & college areas was an insight into student life.

Mr Jordan T, July 2014: The room was great, about twice the size as the rooms my colleagues were were staying in at the conference I was attending for the same price. The porters were friendly and very helpful.
Prof John A, July 2014: lovely light open feel to the college.

Hr. Lars G, July 2014: We are very surprised by the very good accommodation. thanks for beautiful days. we'll meet again.
Miss Alyssa L, July 2014: Great experience staying at CHURCHILL College. Porters and the team at porters lodge are very helpful. Parking easily available and close proximity to rooms. Breakfast is good and have a variety of items. Room is cosy and warm. Bathroom is simple and complete. Easy access to the downtown core. Overall very good experience. I will stay here again.
Mrs Margaret J, July 2014: Very pleasant stay. Room spotless and generally very quiet, apart from slamming doors (not sure you can do anything about this given the nature of fire doors). Very helpful staff and generous breakfast.
Mr Arnaud B, July 2014: Had a very pleasant stay in a beautiful place. If you love modern architecture from the 60s, this is a great specimen!
Mr Gareth W, July 2014: From the pleasant greeting from the Porters to the check out it was a very good experience. It was great to get a feel for Churchill College and we have made a point of checking its history. It was excellent value for money
Ms Nicola M, July 2014: Churchill College is amazing architecturally. I really thought my stay was value for money and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Mrs Philippa M, July 2014: Very good value for money would use again
Mrs Sharon R S, July 2014: Loved the 1960's architecture & sculptures.
Dr Sreejith G, July 2014: Thanks for providing a nice stay !

Overall - excellent value for money. Perhaps you could make it more apparent that shower and toilet are shared. Very good service at porters' lodge.
Mr Joë B, July 2014: The WIFI did not work during my stay, and I would have needed. It would be useful to suggest your customers to bring flip-flops for the shower, or sell flip-fops at the Porter's Lodge. The breakfasts were very good. Overall, the value for money was good.
Mrs Ann K, July 2014: Very good quality of service. Water in block 37 was tepid or cold. Our only complaint.
Mr Wernfried K, July 2014: I've really enjoyed greatly coming back to Churchill with its splended grounds and superb atmosphere!
Mr Giovanni D, July 2014: It was difficult to find a free shower. Maybe one per floor is too little. But it was the graduations period, and during the weekend there were parents act. The overall experience of staying at Churchill's was very good.
Mr Oliver G, June 2014: The porters of Churchill College are the kindest and friendliest of Cambridge!
I liked the architecture and the clear and bright rooms, and my morning walks through the back side parks. Whenever I will return to Cambridge, I will look forward to rent a room in your college again.
The only problem I had was to find you, when I arrived with the bus. It would be helpful to have a phone number for the evening, just to know that somebody is there (not everyvody is familiar with the porter lodges of Cambridge) and to ask for the address, so that visitors can ask others for directions or take a cab.
Mr nadeem S, June 2014: I enjoyed my stay at Churchill college Cambridge and would stay again. However my one comment was that I never got new towels for my next day (I thought they might change them) but apart from that it was a nice experience
Ms jeanette D, June 2014: All in all, a very pleasant stay. Thank you.
Mr Chris D, June 2014: Porters Lodge very helpful.
Mr Will S, April 2014: Thanks for a nice visit!
Mr Diana B, April 2014: Nice room better than expected
Mr Andrew W, April 2014: This was my second stay at Churchill College and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was pleasant, comfortable and well equipped with plenty of parking close by. The dining hall was open this time and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning, plus dinner on a few occasions. The buttery was a pleasant place to sit and have a drink and the grounds are beautiful, all set in a quiet part of west Cambridge. A really good short break and I'll definitely be booking again.
Mrs Yahong Q, April 2014: We enjoyed our stay in Churchill college. The room is warm and comfortable. Parking is convenient. Breakfast is excellent with many choices. We walked to town centre easily.
Mr Michael L, January 2014: I would be very happy to use the facilities again
Ms Cliona B, October 2013: I was here for one night attending a conference. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with towels and cosmetics provided. The porter and dining staff were very pleasant. Had a very enjoyable stay, and will certainly return. Thank you!

Miss Susan C, September 2013: I found the process of booking a room very easy. Accommodation was basic but was ideal as we just stayed one night. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely stay again. Ms Karen M, September 2013: Thank you I really enjoyed my stay.
Mr Nicklas B, September 2013: Very good service and nice people.

Mr Simon L, September 2013: I was happy to be lodged in the same site of the meeting. The rooms were confortable. Unfortunately the end of the summer in Cambridge looked like the middle of winter (at least during the meeting) and the heating in the room was quite low. The people in charge of the room service and the help I received to make my WiFi work in te room was excellent. Special thanks also to the people in the porter lodge who were very kind and helpful.
Dr Margherita D, September 2013: Very nice people are working there.
I would have appreciate wi-fi access in the room and more outdoor lighting (it was difficult to find my room when I arrived in the evening).
Dr Trevor W, September 2013: We would really have appreciated a TV! Otherwise excellent - thankyou.
Dr Rochelle C, September 2013: Great college to stay in if you have a car and require parking. Spacious room. It would be good to have a flannel if possible. Fantastic to have free wi fit. The bar area was lovely and friendly. Staff in the bar and porters were all helpful. Would happily stay again.
Mr Pascal G, September 2013: good scientific quality in general, lodging correct, facilities appropriate, schedule OK, small efffort on quality for food.
Mr Anthony P, September 2013: Despite dealing with ~ 100 guests for a Conferene the Porter staff were cheerful, helpful and welcoming. The food was excellent and catered for a wide range of tastes. The Accom. was a basic student room (no phone/TV but had internet), clean, warm and well furnished. The on-site free parking was my decider when booking and significantly adds value c.f. other venues in Cambridge. A peaceful setting too. Well done Churchill!
Mrs Katherine S, September 2013: We were very pleased with the accommodation. The only thing you might want to change is the orange drink at breakfast - orange juice would have been much nicer!! Would recommend and would stay again. Thank you.
Mr Michael S, September 2013: An enjoyable stay made the more so by the very helpful staff in the Lodge and Dining Room. Will use again if the opportunity arises. We were particularly grateful to be allowed to leave our car parked at the College until well after the booking out time.
Miss Catherine Mary C, September 2013: My second visit. Outstanding value for money on any metric. The porters are probably the nicest concierges in Europe.
Dr Roger L, September 2013: People was very gentle and helpful. Lack of internet in the room is my main critics. Overall, fine and no problem.
Mr John W, August 2013: Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, will do the same again. Staff most helpful.
Miss Susan R, August 2013: Great location and lovely grounds
Mr Harry F, August 2013: My first ever stay in a University College and it will certainly from now not be the last.

Ms Maggie H, August 2013: Although the room was basic, it was sufficient for our overnight stay. The College is within easy walking distance of the city centre so this met with our requirements. Mr Peter D, August 2013: Thank you, my family enjoyed a comfortable nights sleep and excellent breakfast.
Ms Katherine W, August 2013: Very Welcoming Porter and good hassle free service. Would be great to have easier wifi access in the rooms but it is obviously available in the common areas.
Ms Diana B, July 2013: A very pleasant stay. Good facilities . Good value for money and nice and close to Cambridge. The only thing I would have liked is some information about how the colleges and university of Cambridge works. i.e what subjects people study and how places at the college are allocated.
Mr Edward T, July 2013: Easy check in, rooms were well looked after ans spacious within wonderful grounds. We were only 10 mins walk from central Cambridge which was perfect for us. Breakfast was included and plentiful.

Plus there are the bonuses of plentiful parking and extensive grounds to relax in, weather permitting.
Miss Helen M, July 2013: A really good option if you're visiting Cambridge. The rooms at Churchill College are spacious and perfect for an overnight stay. The breakfast was great. Free parking is a bonus and it's only a 15 minute walk into the City Centre.
Mrs christine M, April 2013: Good to be away from town centre and have somewhere to leave the car
porters all easy so a relaxing stay
Mr Mike S, April 2013: Really enjoyed our stay thankyou, very handy having free car parking too.
Dr Christine S, April 2013: The room was very pleasant, spacious and clean, and the porters were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I will definitely want to stay at Churchill College again. Mr Will H, April 2013: We were very impressed with the standard of the room and food, and the friendliness of the college staff. had sometimes problems to understand the porter - my English is from school times...
Dr David B, October 2012: Great stay at Churchill - thanks to all the staff there.

Miss Alison S, August 2012: The catering was excellent (although the hot drinks area was not well-designed, being a bottleneck because it was in the corner). The porters were all most helpful and welcoming.
Mr Steve R, August 2012: This is the second time i have stayed at the college and it has a fantastic atmosphere and location. Thank you

Mrs Imogen W, August 2012: For budget accomodation churchhill college really took me by surprise, great central location with parking, 24hr check-in, great breakfast and no noisy stagg/hen party's that my family who stayed at the travel lodge had to put up with!! Ms Veronica G, July 2012: Thanks for a lovely stay at Churchill College on Saturday. The complimentary toiletries were a wonderful surprise, as well as the comp biscuits (great for morning cuppa prior to breakfast). Breakfast service on Sunday was also more than expected with a full english available if required.
Porters Lodge - very friendly and helpful.
Only downside for me was the proximity of the parking. I managed to find one space on the private road but it was still a bit of a walk to the front and our room (it was raining so that was the real gripe!!!). If I could have parked off to the side in staff parking which was plentiful it would have been preferable.
Would definitely recommend to friends coming to Cambridge.
Already looking at other university campuses for our next city visit.
Mr Hasan A, July 2012: Churchill College may find it useful to have a large signpost at their road entrance. The site can be missed during heavy rains.

Dr Anne L, July 2012: The reception and booking organisation were excellent. The porter ordering me a taxi was very helpful, as was the taxi free-phone number for my return taxi.
The light and extractor to the shower did not seem to work. Fortunately, the weather was such that opening the bathroom door and bedroom windows soon cleared the steam.
A bedside lamp would have been useful for reading in bed. Otherwise the room was very comfortable and the windows onto the garden made it very pleasant.
The room and parking were ideal for my visit and the breakfast was perfect.

It is a bit basic in that you have to share bathroom facilities, but I never once had to wait for the bathroom so it worked out fine. The bedrooms are large and clean with a desk which is handy if you are attending a conference.

Cheryl T, September 2010: Was very pleased with the room, and the hospitality much more than i had expected from uni accomodation,. such as towels provided, i had taken my own. Amazing breakfast so much choice...and fried bread was the best!
Janet H, September 2010: Room was spacious, even the single that I had. I don't at all mind sharing facilities, but wish that there had been a shower and not just a bathtub. The men at the porter's lodge were as friendly as ever. Also, your website is inviting and easy to use.
Hugh Irivine A, September 2010: I booked for two nights at Churchill College as I would be using the Churchill Archives. However, it is certainly a super place to stay when in Cambridge. The parking on site is a definite bonus but the general feel of the college where everyone is cheerfull and helpful adds to the pleasure staying at Churchill College. I spoke to others staying on a B&B basis. All without exception were more than happy, had enjoyed their stay and would come again; as will I.
One benefit of staying at a University College is that the rooms have a large desk, something missing in most B&Bs. Thank you for the opportunity to give my view.
Patrick De S, September 2010: Excellent price/quality value
Dr Chris A, September 2010: We had a lovely time in the most delightful environment and thank you very much.
Dr Pavels G, September 2010: We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
valerie H, September 2010: Very good experience, the room was a good size , clean and we were not expecting tea and coffee making facilities.
The only thing that might have improved our stay was that the room was a little cold.
Heather J, September 2010: Excellent hospitality, lovely toiletries in a handy bag and a spacious amount of room. Only drawback was the distance to the town center but it's not a very long walk, unless you have luggage. Not the best sound insulation if someone is staying in a room above your room. Very helpful porters!
Natalia Vale A, September 2010: Very helpful staff and good location.
Mr. John N. P, September 2010: Really excellent accom; perfect for our needs. Having a secure bike shed was really useful as well. Picked Churchill because of the free parking and again this was really useful.
Only one minor point - the room was a little on the cold side - i should have got a heater from the porters.
Giles H, September 2010: If you don't a bit of a walk (between room and car park and into Cambridge itself) and have no need of a TV in your room, Churchill College represents an excellent value alternative to conventional hotel accommodation. I hope to stay again.
Karl G, September 2010: Very impressed. Helpful friendly staff, very good facilities and excellent breakfast. Would recommend to friends and family.
Mrs Natalie B, September 2010: Churchill is a fantastic place to stay. As it is out of the city centre, albeit a short walk or bus journey, it was lovely and quiet compared to the centre itself on the Saturday night I stayed. There was also ample parking. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, face-to-face and via email. To cap it all, the breakfast was superb! Ideal for a short break/ overnight trip.
Mary ann C, September 2010: Fabulous place to have a reunion. Will defnitely use University rooms again. Oh and the guys at the Porters lodge at Churchill College were awesome as my daughter would say!
Gillian A, September 2010: We had a very pleasant weekend in Cambridge thanks. We were a little disappointed that there was no bar or coffee shop or similar open in the college during the afternoon as it would have been a good meeting place for our group but we were very impressed with the standard of the rooms, the access to the city and the breakfast. Many thanks.
Grietje B, September 2010: The staff at Churchill were incredibly helpful and friendly.
Foo Ming F, September 2010: I enjoyed my stay in the Churchill College very much, dispite the building and furniture are kind of old, or I would say with great historical sense. The service was excellent, breakfast was eceptionally goo and also with the very friendly and helpful security guards.
Diana B, August 2010: The porters were very friendly and helpful, the room was larger than we had anticipated and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. It compared very favourably with hotel rooms we have used. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Thank you
Robert W, August 2010: We have stayed at Churchill College before and find it ideal for visiting family in Cambridge.
BRIAN THORPE, August 2010: I think you should change the towels occasionally, they get rather dirty after a week.I saw a review criticising the communal showers, but I had no problems with finding it in use when I wanted it, and it was much better than the "pods" that other universities have.
Martina L, August 2010: I was there five days, and only discovered that there was computer access the day before I left. that information on arrival would have been much appreciated. overall I was well pleased. thank you.
Jennifer G, August 2010: Everything excellent, only exception being blocked drain of basin, otherwise no problems and. as always everyone very friendly and helpful.
Mr K T, August 2010: I can't speak too highly of our stay at Churchill College. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the accommodation, in such lovely surroundings, surpassed many hotels we have experienced in the past. We would certainly visit Churchill again.
Pamela T, August 2010: Thoroughly enjoyed our stay as we found ALL the staff very friendly and helpful. Would have liked to relax in the bar at night but understand with so few people staying there it's not practical. Would do it again!
Annie L, August 2010: I can't comment on the breakfast, as I didn't have any! But overall I really enjoyed my night there and would definitely recommend it to others.
joan T, August 2010: Comfortable, very clean room. Quiet location. Excellent for overnight stay.

Ms Rebecca L S, August 2010: I was extremely pleased with this stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, service was friendly, and breakfast was better than most B&Bs! I won't hesitate to use these services again, or to recommend them to others.
Mr Ross H, August 2010: Really good value stay
Mr M L, July 2010: Exellent breakfast choice and quality. Rooms were as expected and good value for money. Will use again if in area at the right time.
Siobhan H, July 2010: It was a very relaxing mini-break, and a trip down memory lane to stay in halls again-thank you!
R W, July 2010: Happily surprised at the quality of the room and the campus itself. Having only left uni a few years ago, I wasn't expecting much, but it was very nice.
I guess this is what you get if you go to Cambridge!!
Great breakfast too. If I ever go to Cambridge again I will certainly use Churchill college again.

the staff at check in were pleasent and very helpful.
Megan D, July 2010: Very impressed
Mr JAMES M, July 2010: Enjoyed our visit
Good value for money
Small suggestion: An ATM cash machine near the Porter's lodge
provided by a bank could be beneficial.
Thomas L, July 2010: Very pleasant stay, thank you!
Antonio L, July 2010: It's a bit remote, but the area is calm and quiet.
Manuel Manzanares F, July 2010: The staff was really friendly and hepful.
Mrs H E M, July 2010: A side light would have been good.
Massive bath not very good for saving water! Shower would have been better.
Friendly and attentive porters and cleaning ladies. Great feeling of space.
James G, July 2010: The porters were extremely helpful and it was useful to be able to park the car.
Judy B, July 2010: As I was visiting Cambridge to work pretty intensively in the University Library, it was good to have car parking on site, as well as the opportunity to buy an evening meal.
Nitza C, July 2010: Very spacious room in lovely surroundings. Better than I expected.
L J, July 2010: Excellent, going to stay again (twice in the next few weeks). Only complaint is the main car park being a long way from the check in desk and the lack of directions/information on parking closer.
K. B. P, June 2010: As a first experience of staying in a Cambridge College it was one I would repeat without hesitation, and it was particularly stimulating to meet and converse with others staying at the college.
Janet G, June 2010: Just more attention to sinks ans showers... excellent location and very reasaonable rate for a very expensive city.
John S, April 2010: Great value for money and very convenient. Will recommend it. Many thanks. Phil Dickinson (second room booking)

Mr David S, February 2010: I really enjoyed the experience of B&B at Churchill College last August.Very clean room and surroundings, spacious grounds , convenient free road parking, a safe and quiet environment . 15 minute walk to the city centre. I would also like to book at other universities .
Mary M, February 2010: I really enjoyed my stay at Churchill College. The room was very nice and well-maintained. The meals in the dining hall (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were more than adequate. The Porters were very helpful in answering questions about the College, Cambridge itself, and public transit. It was also handy to be able to make a reservation only a few days before my arrival.
Ms B B, February 2010: This was ideal for visiting Cambridge with a car and only a 10-15 minute walk from the centre and artistic places to visit such as Kettle's Yard and the Fitzwilliam, and restaurants for dining out in the evening. The campus has many sculptures of note and is lovely to wander around in the evening. The porters were very helpful. I would definitely return here if I wanted another couple of days in Cambridge during the vacation period. Beryl B
Gwen M, October 2009: Porters at Churchill lodge very helpful for sorting telephone numbers in UK and giving advice to us. Bathrooms a bit primitive but great toiletries and teamaking facilities. Locks very noisy. Great for a one nighter.
Kevin S, September 2009: Excellent value
Heather D, August 2009: Especially liked the free tea and coffee making facility and the toiletries. I didn't expect that in a hall of residence. Porter very friendly too.
