Attractions
Hamilton offers lots to see and do, such as first-class sporting and leisure activities, including football, rugby, golf, tennis, ten-pin bowling, swimming and horse riding. The recently-regenerated town centre also offers plenty of shopping options as well as a new 9-screen cinema, theatre and a host of diverse pubs, nightclubs and restaurants.
There are a number of country parks and nature reserves such as Strathclyde Park which is situated between Hamilton and nearby Motherwell. There is a Roman Fort and a bath house at the Park and there is a M&D's theme park, an indoor Tropical Rainforest packed with exotic birds.
Strathclyde Park Golf Course is located on the Hamilton side of the M74 Motorway, Junction 6. The course is a 3113 yard, par 36, 9 hole course set amongst mature woods and parklands adjoining Strathclyde Country Park.
Getting There
By Car: From Glasgow, exit M74 at Junction 5, then follow signs for Hamilton
By Train:Trains run every 30 minutes from Glasgow Central to Hamilton. The accommodation is 5 minutes walk from Hamilton West Train Station.
By Bus: The number 201, 263 (First Glasgow) passes the accommodaiton.
By Air: Glasgow International Airport and then a train.
