Jesus College is situated in central Oxford adjacent to the main shopping street and within sight of Carfax Tower.

The College is pleased to be able to offer accommodation in student bedrooms including a mixture of traditional standard, singles and twins with shared bathroom facilities, and more modern, single ensuite rooms (please read the room descriptions before booking). All accommodation offered is located on the main College site or Ship Street, and has central heating.

The Scout (Housekeeping) will service your room on a daily basis.

History to the present day

Founded in 1571, Jesus College is the only College in either Oxford or Cambridge to have been founded during the reign of Elizabeth I.

In 1974, the College became one of the first five men’s colleges to admit women. Famous alumni include T.E. Lawrence (‘Lawrence of Arabia’), former prime minister of Jamaica Norman Manley, and Harold Wilson, our own Prime Minister during the 60s/70s and whose Order of the Garter banner can be seen in the Chapel.

Food and Drinks

A Full English breakfast is included in the price of the accommodation, taken in the Elizabethan Dining Hall between 8.00am and 9.00am daily. The breakfast menu consists of fruit juice, cereal, toast, a full English breakfast with tea or coffee.

Grounds and gardens

Guests are welcome to relax in the College grounds and view the Chapel and the portraits in the Dining Hall.

Other facilities

All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers and internet access via the Cloud.

The majority of our bedrooms are accessed via flights of stairs with no lift and are therefore are unsuitable for those with limited mobility. The only rooms with lift access are those located in the Ship Street Centre (please check room description for details).

Those with specific accessibility requirements should contact the College before making a booking.

Laundry and ironing facilities are available in College, and a self-top up swipe card for the washing machines and dryers can be obtained from the Lodge.

Friendly reception, clean, comfortable, conveniently located in centre of Oxford, nice big desk, good value for money in a city of overpriced hotels.
Prof Bella M

A clean, comfortable and simple room in an excellent central Oxford location. The cooked breakfast was quite nice and served in the attractive old dining hall, but not geared towards non-pork eaters.
Mr David A

Good friendly service- excellent central Oxford accommodation!
Mrs Julie G

Perfect location in almost perfect town. Everything met, and mostly exceeded the expectation. Would love to repeat the experience in the future. Oxford University dorms is the best kept secret, let's keep it this way :))
Mr Michael L

I've stayed at Jesus College before, altho not in the Ship Street Centre, which was more like a hotel room than a dorm room and very convenient to walk across the street for breakfast in the college hall.
Miss Anne K

Delightful stay - wish it had been longer
Mrs Diane O

All the people on the front desk were lovely and really helpful. Especially when I was trying to find the location late at night. And organising me taxis when I was leaving great stay
