Panoramica

Sidney Sussex College is pleased to offer clean, simple accommodation in the unique historic surroundings of a traditional college in the heart of Cambridge with restaurants such as The Ivy and Bill's just a short walk away.

Bedrooms are located within the grounds of the college in either Blundell Court, Garden Court, Cloister Court or Sussex House. There are also bedrooms located a short 5 minute walk away, in Sidney House and Cromwell Court.

Most bedrooms have a wash hand basin and you will be provided with towels and soap. Standard bedrooms are shared between 4-5 bedrooms unless you are in an ensuite room. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, internet access and serviced daily by the Housekeeping staff.

As one of the smaller Colleges, Sidney Sussex has a strong community spirit and is known for its warm and friendly welcome to visitors.

Efficient heating and hot water in room. Tea and coffee tray was replenished which I wasn't expecting. Breakfast wasn't served during my stay as students' term had finished. Perhaps the brochure could make that clear. Very convenient location. Beautiful gardens and buildings.

The facilities were very good: the room was warm and secure and well lit by a window with a view onto the garden view and the shower was good. It was also very helpful to have a fridge. It would just have been useful to have been provided with a plate, bowel and cutlery.

Lovely location but very noisy. Wasn't aware that I would be kept awake until after midnight due to loud voices at pub nearby.

Check In: From 12noon - 11pm Check Out: By 10.00am

Guests should check-in at the Porters' Lodge at the front of the College (opposite Sainsbury's on Sussex Street). The Porters' Lodge is open for check-in and check-out between 06.00am and 11.00pm. Outside these times, a night porter is on site to deal with emergencies only. The main gate by the Porters' Lodge is closed at midnight. Room keys also unlock the wicket gate (the small door within the main entrance gate). Rooms are available to check in from 12noon on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, guests are required to vacate bedrooms and return keys to the Porters Lodge by 10.00am to enable the rooms to be serviced for incoming guests. We regret that we do not have facilities to store guests luggage.

Please note that, despite their title, College Porters do not carry guest bags.

The College is unable to offer parking on site, however, Park Street Car Park is available a short distance from the College.  The City also operates a very convenient Park and Ride scheme, details of which can be found at:  https://www.parkandride.net/cambridge/cambridge_frameset.shtml
It is not possible to park overnight at the park and ride site.
 
The railway station is approximately 15 minutes walk from the College.  Taxi services are available outside the Station entrance.
