The building that now houses the Tagaste El Carmelo Residence Hall was originally used as a religious college and was associated for many years with the Discalced Carmelite nuns. Over time, the space was adapted to new needs, eventually becoming a university residence hall, while maintaining its peaceful and functional character. This evolution is part of the building's recent history and its integration into the life of the city.
