Collegio Emiliani (Long stays), Genova

History

Built in 1500s overlooking the sea, Collegio Emiliani was for several centuries the convent of the Friars Minor of St. Francis of Paola. Abandoned just after the Napoleonic suppression in 1899, it was acquired by the Somaschi Fathers, a religious congregation dedicated to the education of boys, founded by St. Jerome Emiliani in the 1500s. From over a century the Collegio is home to the Emiliani Schools, secondary level, High School specialising in classical studies, one in scientific studies and another one in scientific and sport and studies. Next to the college there is the Church dedicated to St. Jerome Emiliani, which was rebuilt in the early 20th century.

There is a small kitchenette available, shared by all guests, for those who want to be independent cooking for themselves.

In the courtyard there is a bar area available 24-hrs with several vending machines with snacks and cold and cool drinks. In the surrounding areas there are several bars, restaurants, pubs and pizza places.
