Overview

Mandelbaum House welcomes students and non-students for stays from December 2018 to February 2019.

Why stay at Mandelbaum?

Location - We’re right on campus, 3km from the city centre and just around the corner from cosmopolitan King St, Newtown. Walk to cafes, shops, gym, pool, markets, Carriageworks, night-life, classes and quick public transport to the CBD, Sydney Harbour and beaches.

Affordability - We’re a non-profit organisation. Our rates reflect that.

Size - Our boutique scale makes our service and support exceptional. Guest will feel at home and meet fellow students and travellers.

Quality - No need to compromise on comfort or security. Our rooms are clean and private, with excellent amenities, in one of the safest buildings on campus.

Holiday period

We will not be accepting arrivals on Christmas Day (25 December), Boxing Day (26 December), 31 December or 1 January. Between 28 December 2017 and 2 January 2019 the minimum stay is five nights.

Check in: 14:00 (2:00pm) - 14:00 (2:00pm) (arrivals may be allowed outside this window if your travel plans can't be adjusted however this is subject to availability)

When I stayed in front room on second floor outside temperature was mild. I can imagine the room could get warm in hot weather. Can hear traffic in front room but was not a problem for me. Otherwise was quiet. TV room a bonus. Friendly people when I saw them. Brilliant location. Nice walk to Redfern station

I stayed at Mandelbaum House just after arriving in Sydney, Australia, while I was looking for long-term accommodation. The staff was very friendly, and graciously let me use the address at Mandelbaum House to do the necessary administrative work.

Mandelbaum House was a very comfortable and quiet place to stay during the summer months. Exceptionally helpful and responsive office staff. Short walk to King Street shops and restaurants. Overall I'd definitely stay here again!

Everyone at Mandelbaum house was really helpful and friendly. The location’s excellent for the train at Redfern and is also close enough to the center. Definitely recommend people to stay here, great value for money!

Please report to reception to check-in.

Train: Take the train from the airport to Central station, once at Central station take the train to Redfern station (1 stop away). Thereafter, Mandelbaum House is a 10-minute walk from Redfern station. When coming out the station make way onto Lawson Street, walking down Lawson, turn left onto Abercrombie Street (ask anyone which way Sydney Uni is and they’ll point in the right direction).

Taxi: A taxi should cost around $30.00 - $40.00 from the airport depending on traffic. The address is: 385 Abercrombie Street, nearest cross streets are Codrington Street and Golden Grove. Let the driver know we are near the University of Sydney Darlington campus.
