The location of the room was wonderful and it was well equipped and clean. The only problems were that the sash window was stuck open so we had to rely on the secondary glazing and there was no information about how the radiators worked, both of which were off when we arrived. The porters in Oriel Lodge did not know how the radiators worked and offered us a portable heater. In the end we looked up the instructions for the radiators on the Internet and reprogrammed them ourselves.

I had the best stay. I wish I knew the names of the two men and French woman who helped me with so much care and kindness at every turn. The accommodation was central to everything, The place was so spacious and beautiful. The history! Wow! The books and art were lovely. I was so happy to be there l-I hated to leave. It was so nice to have that amazing kitchen. The place was so warm and tidy. I hope I can come back! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Jeanine from Arizona.

The top flat is lovely. The kitchen is well equipped. It was comfortable and quiet. The stairs, both to the flat and within it, are extremely steep and narrow. If you aren’t fit , or if you have any balance problems, this place might be not be for you. The people in the Porter’s Lodge are very helpful. I would book this flat again. Thank you!

The room was 'cosy' and did not have a bath. There was a good heating system and a comfortable bed. The location was excellent, but the ground floor situation, by a popular alleyway, was a little noisy as the room did not have double glazing.

The room was in a great location and was relatively quiet considering we were just off High Street. It did get quite warm and would have benefitted from a fan but overall it was a good deal and I would definitely book again!

First class accomodation. In brand new state. A slighty bigger bed would be nice.
