Here you are free to visit the numerous stately homes, go to the Jurassic coasts of Whitby and Scarborough or simply wander the moors and see the wonderful hidden dales and villages. This time of year Spring is on the way, the birds are starting to pair up and in no time at all the Farndale Daffodils will be out. These are the largest collection of wild native daffodils in the country. Have a look at www.real-whitby.co.uk/farndale-daffodil-walk? to see where they are and download a map of the walk.
Although in the past the North York Moors Authority have arranged a special bus to take the hundreds of visitors to see them the NYMA never told the daffodils and so they did not always flower at the right time. Thats the trouble with wild things they have a mind of their own.
