Overview

Due to the recent outbreak we have only been open to Essential & Key workers. As of 4th July we will be open to all customers. All occupied rooms will be cleaned daily also have clean towels, all surfaces wiped with disinfectant, guests staying longer will also have a bed linen change, all bed linen is commercially cleaned and returned in sealed bags. Once guests have checked out the room is thoroughly and hygienically cleaned before being reoccupied. Shower and soap dispensers have been fitted to all bathrooms. Hand sanitizers are available in main building.

Snaith is one of the most westerly Towns in the East Riding of Yorkshire being very close to the Trans Pennine Trail is popular with ramblers, cyclists and walkers
There are 15 walks locally known as The Heritage Walks ranging from 1.50 miles to 8.75 miles some suitable for disabled persons in wheelchairs. Our accommodation building is in a Mews Type Cottage setting and positioned away from the main building, once checked in you will have 24 hour unrestricted access.
The Downe Arms was built circa 1800 and had one of the first female landladies of the time, up on the first floor which had many uses over the years was once a Mayoral court there were 2 cells in our cellar, just also across the road are the Penny Cells a Lock-up for people who had too much to drink etc; well we did have 12 Pubs in Snaith.
As well as traditional home cooked pub food, we also have an Indian Restaurant "Cardamom Spice" on the first floor, with our Indian Chefs preparing some fantastic authentic Indian cuisine, special offers on Wednesday's and Sunday's under guidelines tables must now be booked.

Large car park to rear of Main Building *Free* to our customers accessible off Pontefract Road DN14 9JJ as we have an ANPR Camera all customers are requested to enter their vehicle registration details at the reception.
