Overview

Sidney Sussex College is pleased to offer clean, simple accommodation in the unique historic surroundings of a traditional college in the heart of Cambridge with restaurants such as The Ivy and Bill's just a short walk away.

Bedrooms are located within the grounds of the college in either Blundell Court, Garden Court, Cloister Court or Sussex House. There are also bedrooms located a short 5 minute walk away, in Sidney House and Cromwell Court.

Most bedrooms have a wash hand basin and you will be provided with towels and soap. Standard bedrooms are shared between 4-5 bedrooms unless you are in an ensuite room. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, internet access and serviced daily by the Housekeeping staff.

As one of the smaller Colleges, Sidney Sussex has a strong community spirit and is known for its warm and friendly welcome to visitors.

Check in: 14:00 (2:00pm) - 23:00 (11:00pm) (arrivals may be allowed outside this window if your travel plans can't be adjusted however this is subject to availability)

Check out: 06:30 (6:30am) - 10:00 (10:00am)

Efficient heating and hot water in room. Tea and coffee tray was replenished which I wasn't expecting. Breakfast wasn't served during my stay as students' term had finished. Perhaps the brochure could make that clear. Very convenient location. Beautiful gardens and buildings.

The facilities were very good: the room was warm and secure and well lit by a window with a view onto the garden view and the shower was good. It was also very helpful to have a fridge. It would just have been useful to have been provided with a plate, bowel and cutlery.

Lovely location but very noisy. Wasn't aware that I would be kept awake until after midnight due to loud voices at pub nearby.

Rooms are available to check in from 2:00pm on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, guests are required to vacate bedrooms and return keys to the Porters' Lodge by 10:00am to enable the rooms to be serviced for incoming guests.

Guests should check-in at the Porters' Lodge at the front of the College (opposite Sainsbury's on Sidney Street).

The Porters' Lodge is open for check-in and check-out between 06.00am and 9.00pm. If you are due to arrive outside of these times, please contact the Porters' Lodge to confirm your arrival.

The main gate by the Porters' Lodge is closed at 9.00pm.

Please note that, despite their title, College Porters do not carry guests' bags.

The railway station is approximately 25 minutes walk from the College. Bus and taxi services are available outside the Station entrance.
