Overview

Set in 200 acres of landscaped grounds at Claverton Down, the University of Bath offers accommodation just a 5-minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bath city centre. There is also a regular bus service, which departs from the campus at 10-minute intervals, making it the perfect base to explore the city and surrounding area, where there are several shops, museums, galleries, art festivals, clubs, pubs and restaurants.

Offering bright and airy single ensuite rooms set in a cluster of flats, with shared kitchen facilities.

Children aged 18 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Rooms will be allocated according to this requirement.

I really enjoyed staying at the U of B: reception extremely attentive; excellent bus connections to downtown Bath; very quiet at night and easy to sleep; food services outstanding. A+ overall.

Genuinely surprised at what good value this accommodation was when compared with the likes of Travelodge and Premier Inn. Compact space but perfectly adequate. Would highly recommend.

Great place to stay. Took me back to when I was a student, but the room was sooo much better. Loved the disco lights. Lovely and clean too.

Keys can be collected from the East Accommodation Centre until approx. 03:00hrs.  After this time keys can be collected from the Library, situated on the Parade. 

Bath Spa Railway Station is a short 10-minute drive away. The University operates a pay and display parking system, but discounted parking permits are available to all guests at a cost of GBP 3.00 Monday- Friday; GBP 2.00 on Saturdays and Free on Sundays. A parking permit is required to park at the university and can be collected from the East Accommodation Centre.

By Bus:

The nearest bus stop to the railway and bus stations at Bath is Dorchester St. The U1 bus service runs from the city centre to the University at regular intervals. 

By Car:

The University campus is situated on Claverton Down, to the east of Bath. The A4 and A36 roads run through the city; the M4 motorway is approximately 16 kilometres (10 miles) distant. If approaching from the M4, leave the motorway at junction 18 and follow the A46 south 12 kilometres (8 miles) to the Bath exit from the dual carriageway.

Turning right here brings you on to the A4 westbound to Bath. After 2.4 kilometres (1.5 miles) turn left at the traffic lights (signposted "City Centre A36"); after 640 metres (700 yards) turn left at the traffic lights towards Warminster. In approximately 275 metres (300 yards) turn right into North Road (signposted "Claverton Down"). The Quarry Road entrance to the campus is on the left towards the top of the hill (approximately 1.6 kilometres - 1 mile); the Norwood Avenue entrance is 0.8 kilometres (half a mile) further on in Claverton Down Road.

If approaching from the city centre, the A4 or the A36 eastbound follow signs to "Warminster", "Claverton Down", "American Museum" and "Park & Ride (University)".

If approaching from the A36 (northbound) follow signs to " Claverton Down".
