Overview

The Unicorn Inn is a historic pub, that was previously a coach house. It has been in continuous use since at least 1760, and has been known as 'The Unicorn' since the early 19th century. A regular tour guide of Richmond town comes through The Unicorn.

Now under new management the Unicorn is a lively, friendly inn, based in the heart of Richmond, North Yorkshire. With the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Coast to Coast walks all on our doorstep, we offer comfortable, affordable accommodation in a great location. We have a large and recently renovated bar area to relax and unwind in with a wide range of beers, cask ales, wines, spirits, and soft drinks. The bar area has Sky Sports, BT Sport, free Wifi, pool table and darts board, plus a large sun-trap beer garden.

For visitors wanting to explore the historic town of Richmond, we are perfectly located in the centre of town, just on the edge of the cobbled market place – The famous Georgian Theatre Royal, Norman castle and banks of the River Swale are within short walking distance. The Unicorn Inn has four light, airy and tastefully decorated rooms – all are priced as room only, no breakfast included or available.

Please note: The Unicorn is a busy pub, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights when we have a DJ and disco on till 1am - all rooms are affected by noise. We also do not have any on-site parking, however there is an abundance of free public parking spaces just opposite the pub and in the market place, or the pay and display long stay car park, Nuns Close (300 yards away).

Check in: 14:00 (2:00pm) - 21:00 (9:00pm) (arrivals may be allowed outside this window if your travel plans can't be adjusted however this is subject to availability)

Check out: Before 10:30 (10:30am)
