Sarum College, Salisbury

Historia

Sarum College is a centre for study and research in historic Grade 1-listed buildings. The College was founded in 1995 to offer theological learning to all. Alongside our own courses and conferences, local, national and international groups and individuals hire our facilities to meet, train and celebrate. Across the quad from us live three Anglican Benedictine monks in St Benedict’s Priory, who are part of the greater Sarum College community, along with the Royal School of Music (RSCM) whose national administrative office is housed on the second floor.

Sarum College has an in-house catering team who make cooked breakfasts and lunches daily, as well as evening meals and food for conferences, events and celebrations. There is a dining room and a licensed bar. There are several cafes within Salisbury Cathedral Close and just outside the medieval walls are classic and gastro pubs, as well as restaurants to suit any taste. Further afield there are excellent pubs set in the timeless Wiltshire countryside.

Salisbury Cathedral Close is an 80-acre site of which seven are grassy public areas for walking, lounging and picnicking. Nearby Queen Elizabeth Gardens is a riverside park about 10 minutes walk from the College. You can continue along the Town Path to see the classic view that John Constable painted of Salisbury Cathedral across the water meadows.
