The main building predates the A143 bypass and is featured in historic photographs when the road was still a railway line. Historical records indicate it has been a pub since the 1960s. Today, we continue to be fully licensed, offering a curated selection of craft beer, cider, spirits, artisan coffee, and soft drinks.
In the 1980s, the building was extended and has since provided accommodation for many years. The rooms are inviting and each carries its own unique character, reflecting the building’s rich history.
The rooms are oriented eastward, offering views of the A143 and the fens, stretching towards the village of Homersfield. To the rear, grazing fields extend into the distance, with gardens leading down to the Beck, a tributary of the River Waveney. These tranquil gardens are a sanctuary for wildlife, with recent sightings of woodpeckers, newts, and even deer visiting during the early summer mornings.
On-site parking is available at both the front and rear of the building for guests' convenience.
