Penryn Summer Rooms, Falmouth

Very good: Location in Falmouth University excellent and signage to find it good; value for location and facilities; workout facilities excellent (although not free, unfortunately); detailed attention to security good, although confusing. Free WiFi. Staff helpful and answered questions about directions, etc. Not so good: High fees to use gym facilities and even higher to use laundry. No toiletries provided for bathroom. Towels not replaced or room cleaned on first night. Security to enter/exit parking lot extremely confusing to visitors from another country. No second key given despite double room - very inconvenient. Fire alarm accidentally set off first morning by construction workers - a rude awakening causing everyone to have to evacuate - should have been turned off sooner. Parking lot very far away from flats - a 10-minute walk at least. No breakfast provided; cafe behind reception was excellent but not free. Other university dorms (i.e. London Oxford College) provided gym, toiletries, breakfast for free and wash/dry laundry was only 3 pounds. To be fair, they had limited WiFi however.

I thought the overall structure and quality was excellent. We stayed when there was a religious group there who were not supervising their children - a 18 month old with a bottle in the road, an 8 year old carrying a new born baby down the road with no adult supervision. It was dangerous and made me really uncomfortable, as a parent and just an adult. I would recommend parental/adult supervision of children be part of your contract. Large signs for motorists does not solve the problem. Other than that massive concern - I would come again.

good value, nice area, would stay here again. Pros: good wifi, location, safe, clean, cheap cafe, lots of electrical outlets cons: should have brought soap bar, shower drain, need to stay away from the closer car park and go over to the other lot where parking is easy.

The rooms were clean and nice. The campus was well organised. The negative point was the breakfast: a very limited choice of food and drinks and only one slice oft toasted bread per guest.

The location is really pleasant and calm. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay there.
