The Woolpack Hotel, Kent

Located in Kent, the Garden of England, between Ashford and Canterbury is the chocolate box village of Chilham. Here you can find a real gem; the 600 year old Woolpack Inn, nestled at the bottom of the hill in the shadow of the Norman castle.

With its vast oak beams and inglenook fireplaces it offers a glimpse into hospitality of yesteryear. We have records of the inn keepers dating back to 1488, a copy of which is displayed in our bar area. It is said the Inn is haunted by The Grey Lady, a friendly spirit who wanders the older parts the main building. You can choose to stay overnight in one of our new refurbished suites, relax in the cosy bar, the award winning restaurant or patio courtyard where you will find the ancient olive tree which has been in situ since the inn was built.

The Inn boasts a traditional British home-cooked menu with many of the ingredients being sourced locally. Fish comes off the boat in the morning and often is on the plate by lunch service.

Visitors can indulge in the local real ale of Shepherd Neame, the Faversham brewers, or a glass of one of our hand picked wines or sparkling whilst sitting next to the roaring fire.

The Woolpack Inn has 14 bedrooms, including luxury four poster rooms with roll-top baths and views to match. Rooms are available from £80 per night exclusive of breakfast. All are fully en-suite with free-view televisions. Some have access to gardens suitable for those wanting to bring their four legged friend, or to simply unwind and enjoy the the peace and quite of the village. The family-run Woolpack combines a fantastic location and great hospitality to make a memorable trip, a must on any visit to the South East.

Dogs are always welcome at the Woolpack Inn; Dogs are allowed in both our bar area and restaurant, given that they are well behaved and under control at all times. With a multitude of walks on our doorstep Chilham is a fantastic destination to visit with your four-legged friend.
