Exclusive to guests of The Fortingall, this tour is for up to four people and takes in the rugged landscapes of the Fortingall's stunning estate in the relative comfort of The Fortingall Land Rover.
Your guide will customise the tour to your preferences, but the standard route will take in some of the most stunning parts of the River Lyon including the Roman Bridge and Allt Da Ghob waterfall, the Black Bridge, and (outside of the stalking season which runs from September to February) you will then ascend to Boreland Ridge to see sheilings (crofter ruins) and for a breathtaking view of Loch Tay 500 metres below, and Perthshire hills beyond. During the stalking season (September to February) you instead of Boreland Ridge you will explore deeper into Glen Lyon, described by Sir Walter Scott as the 'Longest, loneliest and lovliest' Glen in Scotland.
Do ask your guide lots of questions about the history and wildlife of the area, they will be delighted to share their knowledge. They will also be happy to take photographs for you.
Your Ghillie (guide) will pick you up around 9am (look out for The Fortingall Land Rover) and return you there around 12.00-1.00pm depending on conditions. Whilst it is not an expectation, a small cash tip to your Ghillie (guide) is always greatly appreciated, depending on how happy you are happy with your experience.
