The Blue Lion

The Blue Lion is superbly situated for breath-taking views and walks in Wensleydale and Swaledale. Escape to a tranquil valley and discover one of the many impressive historical properties - with Jervaulx on their doorstep and nearby Castle Bolton or Fountains Abbey, you’ll be spoilt for choice. 
If you fancy an escape to the Yorkshire Dales to recharge, you can enjoy a thirst quenching real ale or glass of wine with a fresh, seasonal dish from their blackboard menu.

They have 15 country style rooms, split between the main house and the converted stables, which once housed the horses for travelling traders through Wensleydale. Some rooms have exposed beams and all have either an en-suite bathroom or shower room, together with in-room tea and coffee facilities and all are decorated with comfortable country furnishings for a “get away from it all” relaxing stay.

The Blue Lion Inn is just a short distance away from the River Ure, making it the perfect location for all standards of fishermen. The Blue Lion are able to offer a day on the river at a fraction of the cost of what is paid on Scottish rivers and provide their guests with an excellent day’s fishing. There are some lovely deep holding pools, tempting runs and glides.
