Comfortable and affordable accommodation available during all college vacations. Limited on-site parking. No pets. Free WiFi

Set in 42 acres of open parkland in the north west corner of the city, Churchill College's location is a ten minute walk (or a short bus ride) from the historic city centre. Parking, which is at a premium in this city, is free, however, please note, it operates on a first come first serve basis and cannot be reserved or guaranteed. Please note, the College cannot accommodate pets.

Whilst not old like some other colleges, the light, generously proportioned rooms fulfil the needs of the modern traveller, including a spacious desk and free WiFi, a hospitality tray and toiletries.

History to the present day

Founded in 1958, Churchill College is the National and Commonwealth Memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. Nobel Prize winners Francis Crick, discoverer of the structure of DNA, and Anthony Hewish, the discoverer of the pulsar, were amongst its founding Fellows.

Food and Drinks

Full English and continental breakfasts are included and are served either in the college Buttery or the main Dining Hall between 07.30 and 09.30.

For lunch and dinner, guests are welcome to use either the dining hall or the buttery on a cash basis subject to opening hours and occasional private bookings.

Please note this is not self-catering accommodation, the student kitchen facilities are not for external guests.

The Buttery bar is open throughout the day for snacks and drinks (subject to some restricted opening times).  It provides the perfect space for catching-up with emails whilst relaxing with a refreshing drink, and a piano is available for those with a musical bent.

Grounds and gardens

The spacious grounds are home to an extensive collection of contemporary sculptures from a variety of well-known artists. They provide the perfect backdrop for an hour or two relaxing in the sun with a cool drink and a good book.

Other facilities

Additional facilities for residents include an on-site laundry, a TV room, an all day bar and café (subject to some restricted opening times) and sports facilities including squash and tennis courts and a multi-gym. Very easy and pleasant and so nice to be on the grounds of a college rather than a busy street. Thank you.
Dr (male) Paul W

Churchill College was a pleasant venue for a conference. The room was comfortable (although I had to work out how to open and close the window) and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
Mr George W

V helpful and friendly staff.
Mr John P

Don't expect a hotel! But the customer care was friendly and helpful, the room new and spotless, parking included, and wonderful surroundings.
Mr Charles H

All staff very helpful. Lovely room, very neat and comfortable . Nice surroundings. Well located. May be the only thing is the bus stop. The one of the bus coming directly from the station has changed and is now a bit far...... ... with a suitcase ! Anyway , next time I'll manage to stay longer ! I did enjoy my stay !

Lovely room, clean and had everything I needed for a stay while at a conference at the college. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Breakfast was excellent too.
Mrs Susan L

We would certainly stay at Churchill again if in Cambridge together. It's student accommodation but had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. It was very wet so convenient we could park near our room. The breakfast was really good - wide range of options including yogurt and fresh fruit.
Mrs Anne E

Breakfast was exceptional, as great choice and the cooked breakfast was lovely. Parking was also very good.
Mr Ewen C

Excellent college. All the staff were very polite and very helpful.
Prof (male) Frank P

everything is convenient and perfect. Thanks.
