We live in the most amazing place on the earth! We are right in the middle of everything. From us, you can travel to very north to see Thurso, Wick and John O’Groats and we are only 21 miles (30 min drive) away from Inverness.
From our home, you can go for amazing long walks in the forest by a stunning river, called the Averon which has some of the best fishing in the highlands.
Our home “Beechwood Lodge” is open to nice and friendly people who choose to stay with us.
Ardross is located in the county of Easter Ross. It lies on the B9176 road that runs between the town of Alness on the Cromarty Firth and the village of Bonar Bridge on the Dornoch Firth. This road is signposted as the “Moray Firth Tourist Route” and is a scenic alternative to the A9 for those travelling up or down the East coast of Scotland. This road is also on the most common Lands’ End to John O Groats route, making us a convenient stopover for those travelling End to End.
Our house is situated a few hundred meters off the main road, along a short single-track road. This little road serves to provide access to our house and just four others beyond us, so there is virtually no through traffic. To both the front and rear of us are open fields, with views over adjoining farmland to some of the hills around us. We are far enough off the main road that we do not hear any traffic noise.
The garden to the rear of the house faces south to catch the sun and has a small natural burn running through it. Hence, we feel we can offer you an extremely quiet and peaceful place to relax after a hard day in the hills, exploring or whatever else takes your fancy.
The nearest town is Alness, just 3 miles away. Here you will find a range of shops, pubs, and restaurants, Alness also has a very propeller golf course and there are 17 other golf courses in a 30-mile radius, including Royal Dornoch golf course. Other towns nearby are Dingwall, Invergordon, Tain, Dornoch, Strathpeffer, Muir of Ord, Beauly and Inverness.
