Church Farmhouse is a listed family home ideally situated between the A11 and A14, within twenty miles of the dreaming spires of Cambridge and ten miles of the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds. The hamlet of Herringswell which is on a no through road, is mentioned in The Doomsday Book and is situated on The Icknield Way, drawing walkers and cyclists along the old Iceni route that once connected The Wash in Norfolk to The Dorset Coast.
Our three bedrooms offer a combination of options from the single Traveller to Families holidaying together and we are always happy to accommodate well behaved dogs in
The Boot Room at an additional cost and bicycles in the secure Barn. The Drawing Room and Dinning Room both have open fireplaces and the quiet walled garden is also open to guests.
We are seven miles from Newmarket, the home of Horseracing, featuring both The Rowley Mile and July Racecourses. The town has a good selection of Banks, Grocery Stores, a Dry Cleaners, Beauty Salons, Chemists and a diverse selection of Bars and Restaurants. Thetford Forest is on our doorstep and Lackford Lakes, High Lodge and West Stow are all worth a visit. The local village Pubs offer an excellent choice of Dinning options.
