The King William IV is perfectly situated in the centre of Totnes, enabling visitors to take full advantage of it’s position to be able to explore and enjoy the beautiful Souths Hams. The train station is less than a half mile away. The King William retains its attractive, architectural features and many original items, found in the attic, have been lovingly restored. Bar lights and stained glass blend easily with the new uncluttered contemporary look. The atmosphere and layout inside is light and welcoming with warm wooden floors, comfortable seating, wooden tables and also cosy little areas to sit and chat.The menu is a fusion of classic and contemporary, mezzes and platters rub shoulders with Boeuf Bourgignon and local butchers Sirloin steaks.
The second floor of the King William has undergone a similar refurbishment with four en suite bedrooms providing relaxed, comfortable accommodation. The rooms all have flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and WIFI. The bathrooms are well appointed.
Totnes itself is an historic Elizabethan town full of history and interesting architecture, with a Norman Motte and Bailey castle, a Museum, a Guildhall and many more hidden treasures. There is a sporting pavilion less than a half mile away if you want to keep fit! with badminton courts, swimming pool and much more. Across the road, 10 metres away, there is a dance and fitness centre if you fancy zumba, yoga or meditation. Fabulous riverside walks add to the local attractions. Apart from the King William, with its great menu, there are an eclectic mix of cafes, restaurants and coffee shops, and if shopping's your thing we have many individual shops and boutiques to while away the time with some great window shopping. Totnes is only 20 mins driving away from the A38 the main link between Exeter and Plymouth, and is also on the main rail line if you want to relax and let the train take the strain.
