Rose Cottage is situated ¾ mile South of Theale railway station, 1mile South of the village of Theale which is itself only about a quarter of a mile from Junction 12 on the M4.
The small original part of the house was built in the 15th century with a thatched roof. There is one double and one single room with a shared shower room. There is a further bathroom on the ground floor if required.
There are TVs and free Wifi throughout and tea/coffee making facilities in each room. The front garden is cottage style and guests are welcome to use it if they want a change from their room. If the weather is bad guests may prefer to sit in the small, comfortable study.
A full English or continental breakfast is served in the conservatory. Evening meals (except Sunday evening) can be taken in the Fox and Hounds pub which is a mere 70m away and may be reached directly through its car park.
There is a wealth of walks accessible directly from the house. The Kennett and Avon canal is only a short walk away and Hose Hill Lake, a Regional nature reserve managed by the BBOWT, is opposite the dog friendly Fox and Hounds.
The location makes it easy to visit many famous sites and Heathrow, the nearest airport, is only 35 miles away.
