Overview

Situated close to the border of Staffordshire and Derbyshire, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn makes an ideal base for exploring the wonderful countryside, towns, and villages of the Peak District and surrounding areas or the perfect place to stop for an excellent meal and refreshing drink as you pass through in the car or on foot.

The history of Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn begins in 1621 when the original building was constructed as a small farmstead which was added to later. It is one of the oldest remaining buildings in the Staffordshire town of Longnor.

Situated on the old turnpike road and packhorse route, the inn was able to obtain and supply Cheshire Cheese enroute to markets in Derbyshire and Yorkshire.

Today the pub offers a fine selection of traditional ales and a sumptuous menu of home made fayre. Comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation is available in the recently converted stable block just across the road from the Inn. Locals and visitors with or without families will always find a warm hearty welcome at the Cheshire Cheese.

Free Wi Fi internet connection is only available in the pub area, ideal for a working lunch! Comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in the converted stable block is just across the road from the Inn. There are four rooms to choose from.
