Nestled in the beautiful Wye Valley, in the picturesque village of Tintern, the Old Rectory is an 18th Century period home with exquisite river views. Magical Tintern Abbey a short stroll away, the Old Rectory is a lovely place to enjoy wonderful landscapes full of beautiful walks along the Wye.
Old Rectory rooms all have lovely views over the river and into the hills beyond.
Bedrooms are charmingly appointed, with many special touches - free wifi, satellite TV, Egyptian cotton bed linen, coffee/ tea facilities, fair-trade products, down duvets and pillows (hypoallergenic also available on request), bathrobes and quality toiletries. Many guests mention how very comfortable the beds are, and how well they slept.
Summer flowers and beautiful scented roses from our overflowing rose-garden, fine china cups, many varieties of free trade teas, often with homemade cookies or welsh cakes.
Swans can often be seen floating along the river, as well as geese, ducks, hawks, otters and an occasional crane .
Woodland birds sing beautifully at dawn and dusk, and wildlife in our gardens includes many deer, foxes, rabbits and hedgehogs, perhaps a badger or two.
Rising above the B&B on the hillside, the Abbey can be seen - views are even more stunning than the lovely views from the bedrooms, lounge and dining room.
There are many seating areas to relax and marvel in the views of our valley. There is even a level with prayer flags fluttering gently in the wind.
We also have a wonderful cosy guest lounge filled with maps, books, and crackling woodfires on chilly evenings
