History to the present day

Westminster College buildings were built in 1899 by the Presbyterian Church of England, to replace their existing one in London. The move to Cambridge was largely at the urging of two remarkable twin sisters, Margaret and Agnes Smith, whose portraits now hang in the main dining hall. The college is a Grade II listed building. Almost all the original work survives, with modern facilities sympathetically introduced.

The College is today a Theological College affiliated with Cambridge University with some 50 students; most in training for ministry in the Church.

Westminster College was perfect for my short stay in Cambridge. Very convenient location. Modern, clean room. Very quiet. Nice self-service cooked breakfast in a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff pleasant and helpful. I preferred the college atmosphere to a normal hotel or guest house. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Mr Jim E

Great stay in central location Will certainly use Westminster College accommodation again. 5*
Mrs Lyn H

Wonderful accommodations as rated above for an entire weekend. All receptionists were very courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. The rooms were larger and more comfortable than expected, and very convenient for visiting Cambridge, which was within walking distance.
Dr Sherry B

Very good location for visiting Cambridge. Only 5 minutes walk from famous colleges.
Miss Fiona G

I have stayed here a number of times in the past few years, and have no problems at all with the rooms, service or location.
Mr Maxwell H

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - a very warm welcome at reception and friendly staff in the dining room serving an excellent breakfast. We had five rooms which varied a little in size. I would definitely stay again as the location was excellent and our visit was in October when many (any?) Cambridge colleges do not offer rooms.
Miss Elizabeth S
