History to the present day

Westminster College buildings were built in 1899 by the Presbyterian Church of England, to replace their existing one in London. The move to Cambridge was largely at the urging of two remarkable twin sisters, Margaret and Agnes Smith, whose portraits now hang in the main dining hall. The college is a Grade II listed building. Almost all the original work survives, with modern facilities sympathetically introduced.

The College is today a Theological College affiliated with Cambridge University with some 50 students; some in training for ministry in the Church.

We had a wonderful short stay at Westminster College and enjoyed the time very much. The cottage was small, but clean and provided everything we needed - perfect for two people. We especially liked the nice, quiet atmosphere on the college grounds - although the busy town centre was within walking distance. Staff was very helpful and service was great. We would like to come back.

Very nice furnitures in bedroom and living room, feel so warm and comfortable, will come again.
Ms Polly C

The location was great - at the back of the college, easily accessed from the rear entrance, away from the tourist crowd descending on Cambridge for the day but close enough to the square to access the market and shops. The cottage itself was lovely, nice and new, and very conducive for work.
Dr Simone C

What a fabulous place! The young lady who checked us in on reception went over and above to offer tips and advice for our stay, marking places on the map and generally being super helpful. The cottage is delightful, a haven of peace but yet a stone's throw from the city centre - perfect!

I've marked breakfast as good because I am sure it was, but we had our own breakfast in the cottage. An excellent find!
