Overview

Trinity College, University of Melbourne, is a historic campus set in attractive grounds and gardens. It has 300 student-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms and is just 10-15 minutes' walk from Melbourne City Centre or 5 minutes away by tram.

The college is ideal for individuals or groups seeking budget accommodation in a convenient location. During out of university term times, casual bed & breakfast accommodation is offered in mainly single bedrooms (shared bathrooms) with a very limited number of twin rooms on request.

Accommodation is spread over 8 different buildings of different ages, styles and sizes of bedrooms. The earlier you book, the better the style of room you will be allocated. People staying longer term will generally get larger rooms.

In August 2013, Melbourne was voted the world's most liveable city by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) once again and has consistently been in the top ten over recent years. In the same month, The University of Melbourne was voted the best university in Australia.

A very pleasant stay. Staff very accommodating and a pleasure to meet. My husband was unable to be admitted to hospital as planned and staff were very helpful and understanding in finding him a room for the night. Have recommended your facilities to a number of people including the Leukemia Foundation who often have difficult finding places for families. Well done

Very happy overall, excellent service and food. One area for improvement would be giving customers the option to pre purchase wifi prior to their stay, as there is no way to access wifi if you arrive on the weekend.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and food was very good. I know it is an old building but at some time consideration should be given to at least placing a wash basin in the room.

Trinity College is situated just north of the City Centre. Please note that the college does not have a street number; we are located next to Janet Clarke Hall (Melway reference 2B C5).

Please check in at Main Reception in Bishops' Building during office hours after 1400hrs, Monday to Friday. Otherwise contact our Duty Officer on mobile phone 0061(0)417 034 396 to gain access to campus and room.

The Tullamarine International Airport is approximately 20km northwest of Melbourne (30 minutes by car or 45 minutes by sky bus to city centre). As there is no direct rail or tram link from the Airport to the City, most guests either hire a taxi or use the cheaper skybus service to the city centre. See www.skybus.com.au

Trams are accessible from Elizabeth Street or Swanston Street heading north out of the City Centre. Tram No. 19 heading towards North Coburg along Elizabeth Street stops right outside the front door (stop No. 12). This tram is also available from Flinders Street Main Railway Station in Elizabeth Street.

Luggage can be stored before 1500hrs on day of arrival or after 1000hrs on day of departure if required in Main Reception. Late check-out subject to availability; additional charges apply.
