Porzellaneum, Wien

University Residence

Porzellaneum is situated in the heart of Vienna and is open as a hostel from July to September. The building was erected in 1874, but was refurbished to match today’s living standards and the rooms are spread out over 4 floors. Vienna’s historic inner city can be easily reached by foot, for all other major sights you can use the well-linked public transport connections. The bus stop for the night-bus is just outside the hostel, so you can explore Vienna’s exciting night life and famous “Bermudadreieck” and still take public transport on your way home. The hostel is open 7 days a week all around the clock.

The accommodation provides standard single/double and quadruple rooms with shared bathrooms on each floor on a self catering basis. A maximum of 10 people sharing one bathroom, which is equipped with showers/WC and wash basins. Bed linen is included. Please note that bath towels are not provided.

Great staff very cooperative and helpful. There is issue for shower. Overall i enjoyed here. I will recommend for budgetry staying. In city room in 24€ is fantastic. Once again regards to staff.

By car: Please be aware that Vienna has got severe parking restrictions. There is public parking available, parking is charged by the time period with a maximum stay of 2 hours/day. By Public Transport:

From Vienna Central Railway Station: Take the tram "D" towards "Nussdorf/Beethovengang" and exit at station "Seegasse"; the hostel only 3 minutes by foot (0.1km). A taxi from the station is around €8.00.

From airport Vienna Schwechat: Take the CAT (City Airport Train) to the station „Wien Mitte“, change to the underground U4 towards “Heiligenstadt” and exit at “Rossauer Laende”. Walk out the main exit and turn left at “Gruenentorgasse”, keep straight until you reach “Porzellangasse”, turn left, the hostel is on your right. The walk from the station to the hostel is around 11 minutes (0.6km). A pre-booked airport taxi is around €35.00.
