Loch Assynt Lodge has access to some of the Highlands most exclusive and wild fishing. The Lodge has access to the beautiful River Inver, which cascades west from Loch Assynt, emptying at the idyllic village, Lochinver.
Being a spate river, the Inver comes alive following rain, however it is fed by Loch Assynt so will still fish given the steady supply of water from the loch. The river is not particularly wide, so anglers should come equipped with rods from 10-12ft which will be adequate to cover the pools in low to big water.
Popular flies are willie gunns, cascades, sunray shadows or a hitch can be particularly effective. The river gets Spring fish arriving in April, however the best sport tends to be when the grilse run starts end of June / early July.
