Overview

Bella Ev is a distinctive villa with an Ottoman flair and charm. It offers individually handcrafted bedrooms on a bed and breakfast basis as well as a finely decorated self-catering unit. It is centrally located in the heart of historic Muizenberg and enjoys fine views of both the mountains, sea and parks.


History

Bella Ev is a house with a rich soul and character. The host Kerime Sinclair, Bella Ev’s proprietor, is of Ottoman origin, has travelled extensively and is au fait with the tradition of Mediterranean and Ottoman cuisine.

Food & beverage

Bella Ev is famous for its speciality breakfast, served by the butler and always enjoyed by its guests. Included in breakfast, is a plate of fresh seasonal fruit served with special Bella Ev yogurt and fresh fruit juice. Set hot breakfast is varied each day and served with bread ranging from ciabatta to sourdough and seed bread. Tea, ginger tea and freshly brewed coffee is readily available. Muesli or cereals on request.

Grounds & Gardens

The guesthouse is nestled at the base of Muizenberg mountain, opposite an indigenous garden and is within walking distance of popular restaurants, antique shops, art shops and is very close to the beautiful 36 km Muizenberg beach.

Explore the many mountain walks and caves, discover the fynbos or watch the whales in the bay. Bella Ev is within close proximity of the Cecil John Rhodes Museum, the Police Museum and old Post Huis. Additional attractions include the Lindberg Arts Foundation, the Casa Labia and the Masque Theatre, the Roxy surf school, as well as three of Cape Town’s most beautiful golf courses, Steenberg, Clovelly, and Westlake.

From the airport travel along the N1 until reaching the M3 off-ramp to Muizenberg. Continue to follow the M3 until its end, and turn left at the T-junction. At the next traffic lights, turn right into the Main Road. Follow the Main Road until reaching a set of traffic lights in Muizenberg, which intersects with Atlantic Road. A Checkers shopping centre is located to the left of these traffic lights and an optometrist to the right. Here, turn right into Camp Road. The Muizenberg park will be on the left-hand side. Bella Ev is situated is approximately 500 meters up Camp Road, and has the name written on the house. The house is a large white house with stone on the bottom floor, large ottoman screens enclose the veranda and the bell is located at the smaller black gate.
