Overview

Situated on the slopes of the Muizenberg Range, approximately between Table Mountain and Cape Point, Bluebottle Guesthouse is the perfect getaway from daily life's hustle and bustle.

Bluebottle Guesthouse offers a breathtaking panoramic view from Cape Point across the entire bay to Cape Hangklip on the opposite shore, creating a tranquil ambience in which one can relax and unwind. There are six luxurious and spacious bedrooms, all with comfortable king-size beds and with glass sliding doors or french doors that open out onto a wooden balcony.

Whether you are visiting the Fairest Cape for business or pleasure, at Bluebottle Guesthouse, your stay will be both comfortable and memorable.

History

Floor to ceiling glass on two walls of the guesthouse, provide an abundance of space and light. Wooden floors run throughout the house, complemented by wonderful antique pieces that grace the hallways and living areas.

Food & beverage

A scrumptious South African breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining area or on sunny days on the balcony, whilst breathing fresh mountain air and taking in stunning views of the bay.

Breakfast consists of fruit salad, yoghurt, a selection of cereals, seed loaf, bacon and eggs, mushrooms, tomato, toast, fresh cape fruit juice and tea or coffee.

Any special dietary requirements can be accommodated. Picnic lunches are also offered, which one can enjoy on the numerous walking trails in the area.

There are two marble-top kitchens, which are fully equipped for guests' convenience. The upstairs kitchen is available to guests for storing food and preparing meals, and guests can use the dining table to gather around for a cosy dinner, a relaxing drink, or even a game of cards.

An honesty bar, well stocked with drinks and snacks, and complimentary tea and coffee are also available for guests' enjoyment.

Grounds & Gardens

Indigenous fynbos, specific to the mountainous regions of the Cape, attracts a wealth of insect and birdlife to the enchanting garden. The owner's interest in and collecting of butterflies, has grown into a wider awareness of the intricate relationships between plant, insect and animal life.

The guesthouse is situated in close proximity to a wide variety of excellent shops and restaurants, and a two-minute drive from the beach.

Muizenberg is a half-hour drive from the city centre and twenty minutes from the airport. There are wonderful tourist destinations in close proximity, such as the Cape Point Nature Reserve, the penguins at Boulders Beach, Simons Town Naval Base and many more.

Please note that due to the position of the guesthouse, it can only be reached by stairs. It is therefore unsuitable for wheelchair access and may be problematic for the disabled or elderly.
