Overview

Personal service and a relaxed atmosphere greet you when you enter this family-run guest house. The owners understand the needs of a family having their own children and welcome other children and cater for them with a large garden, television, books and games all for their use.

Located in a suburb of great character and charm, Acocks Green to the south-east of Birmingham city centre, in a cul de sac, tucked well away from noise and traffic, but within a 5-minute walk of the railway station with links to Birmingham city centre, 6 minutes by train, and Solihull. 

You can choose a room to suit your budget with all rooms being ensuite or with adjoining bathrooms. All rooms include a tv, tea and coffee facilities, complimentary toiletries, fresh towels and free wireless internet access and plenty of storage for your luggage in wardrobes and drawers. All guests have use of a comfortable guest lounge and a landscaped garden featuring a patio area. Full English breakfast or Continental breakfast (if preferred) is included.

The hotel is strictly non-smoking including all common rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms.


Food & beverage

A full English breakfast is included and served in the large, traditional dining room with original fireplace and bay window overlooking the garden. Breakfast comprises of toast, baked beans, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, sausage, bacon and egg, as well as fresh fruits, juice, coffee and tea. Cereals, organic porridge, yoghurt and muesli are also available, as is a vegetarian option. If you have any special dietary requirements then please advise in advance to allow for ordering and preparation. High chairs and a children's menu is available.

Guests are also welcome to use the dining room for takeaway or home-prepared meals in the evenings. Evening meals are also available via the guest house by arrangement (surcharges apply).

Other facilities

Comfortable sofas, a television, books and games are provided in the lounge. Visitors can use this area to relax, watch television on the large screen tv or to meet with friends. An outdoor landscaped garden is ideal for all guests to enjoy.

For business or pleasure a desk with a fax machine, photocopier, printer and internet connection is available. If you bring your own laptop or netbook you can access free WiFi.

Directions: From London follow the M1 northbound. Leave the motorway at Junction 19 and go straight ahead for M6 (direction Birmingham, Coventry). Leave the M6 at Junction 3 and go onto the M42 (direction Solihull, Lichfield, N.E.C. and Airport). Leave the M42 at Junction 6 and go straight ahead for the A45 towards Birmingham. At the roundabout on Coventry Road take the first exit: A4040 Yardley Road. Turn left onto the B4146 Yardley Road. Turn left onto Elmdon Road and you will find Elmdon Lodge on the left-hand side.

Nearest Train Station: Acocks Green railway is a stop on the London Marylebone to Birmingham line. From Moor Street or Snow Hill train station, take the train to Acocks Green station. Turn right as you exit the station, onto Yardley Road. The third road on the right is Elmdon Road and the property is halfway down, on the right-hand side.
