Overview

This small river is renowned locally for its trout fishing and also has small numbers of Salmon and sea trout enter the river in the autumn. The best fishing, mainly for bream trout, is in the stretch between Ballymoney and the Lower Bann, around the village of Ballnamore.

The Ballymoney Burn flows West through the famous market town of Ballymoney and is only fishable on the east bank of the Lower Bann.

The best trout fishing is around the village of Balnamore.

The river has been let to DCAL as part of the NI Public Angling Estate for several years and is managed and enhanced by that organisation.

The Honourable The Irish Society has exclusive visitor rods available each day which may be booked on the Availability link.
