Become inspired at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden
Studley Royal Water Garden is a serenely beautiful landscape garden. Featuring one of the best water gardens in England, originally laid out in the 1700s in the sheltered River Skell. At the lower end are reflecting moon ponds, a formal canal, grotto springs, sculptures, a rustic bridge and the Temple of Piety. Higher up, contrived vistas bounce across the valley, culminating in the picturesque vision of ruined Fountains Abbey sitting on the valley floor. Anne Boleyn's seat, a timber gazebo has now been fully restored and offers fine views over this wonderful example of 18th century landscaping.
