The George Hotel is a traditional country pub in the village of Orton in Cumbria dating back to 1826. We have 8 rooms in total, 6 are ensuite, 2 have a shared bathroom with a bath.
All rooms have a television, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer, ironing board available on request. We now also have facilities for up to 4 tents at the rear of the pub.
Enjoy a terraced beer garden for the summer or a roaring log fire in the winter, you will always get a warm welcome and somewhere to relax whatever the weather.
We serve a traditional menu ranging from gourmet burgers, pies from our locval butcher, Pizzas and much more includung Angelas Lasagne
We have a good selection of beers including Orton Scar Ale, wines and soft drinks in the bar area.
We are easy to find as Orton is just 3 minutes from Junction 38 M6 Motorway or 4 scenic miles from Junction 39. We are also on the Coast 2 Coast walk & cycle routes and the W2W cycle route as well. We also have the world famous Kennedy's chocolate factory just across the road which is a real treat for all visitors.
