Overview

Award-winning Lastingham Grange is surrounded by a stone wall and built around a courtyard. It is set within ten acres of well-kept gardens and fields, on the edge of the moors in the historic village of Lastingham; a peaceful backwater in the heart of the National Park.

Offering 12 comfortable and individually furnished bedrooms available in single, twin and double bedrooms which all include a private ensuite bathroom.

Lastingham is a perfect centre for the moors and the dales, for ruined abbeys and castles, for the ancient city of York and for the coast, with its smugglers’ coves and its long sandy beaches, a mere twenty or so miles away. There is also fishing, riding, golf and swimming in the area, as well as: The North York Moors Railway, Eden Camp, Flamingo Land, the Ryedale Folk Museum and many more attractions.

History

Lastingham Grange was transformed in the early 1920s from a 17th-century farmhouse into the fine country house that it is today. However, it was only in 1946 that the Grange first opened its doors as a hotel.

Food & beverage

A full English breakfast is served in the dining room using local ingredients from 8.30am - 10.00am. Morning coffee is served in the garden or lounge from 10.30am with light lunches available from 12.00pm - 1.45pm. Afternoon tea is served from 2.00pm - 5.30pm and includes freshly made sandwiches, scones and cakes. Dinner is available from 6.30pm - 8.30pm with a varied selection of fine dining dishes which change daily.

There is no bar, but drinks may be ordered by residents or by diners in the Lounge or Garden.
