Overview

Newton Farmhouse offers four-poster rooms and is ideally situated just 7 miles south of Salisbury and on the edge of the beautiful New Forest and Hampshire borders. The area is noted for its rolling countryside, dotted with picturesque villages where wild ponies and deer can be seen roaming freely around the forest. The Farmhouse is set in 2 ½ acres of wonderful grounds were on a summers evening you can enjoy a glass of wine by the pool and all of the rooms are elegantly and comfortably furnished. The White Company products and Bryn Parry merchandise are provided in all rooms.

History

Newton Farmhouse is a historic 16th Century Grade II listed Farmhouse formerly part of the Trafalgar Estate, gifted to Lord Nelson's family. Although the house has been extensively altered over the years, it still retains such features as flagstone floors, exposed oak beams, an original bread oven in the inglenook fireplace and a well inside the breakfast room.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served in the conservatory between 8.00am and 9.00am Monday to Saturday and between 9.00am and 10.00am on Sundays. A full English breakfast, plus a selection of freshly prepared fruit, yoghurt and cereals are available together with pastries, cakes, toast and tea or coffee.

Grounds & Gardens

The garden has a trampoline and outdoor swimming pool, which guests are welcome to use. All children, regardless of age, must be supervised when using either the trampoline or the swimming pool and guests do swim at their own risk. Whilst the pool is available for guests, it can only be used if David or Lizzie is on the premises.

Other facilities

Numerous leaflets for all the lovely places in the surrounding area are provided and there are a number of walks in the forest that are recommended. Two in particular, a wooded walk at Nomansland and a heathland walk at Fritham, both of which have a pub at the end.
