The charming Royal Harbour Hotel is located on Ramsgate’s famous “Royal Harbour” so dubbed by George IV on his visit to Ramsgate in 1821. Ramsgate town is steeped in history in which the Royal Harbour Hotel has played its part. Artist Van Gogh, author Wilkie Collins, actors Bob Hoskins and John Hurt are just a few of the famous faces who have enjoyed the hotel’s hospitality.
All rooms are unique, some have sea views, some overlook the garden. They vary in size from the excellent value “cozy-single” a tiny room dominated by a super-comfortable single bed with luxurious bedding, to the grandest "Royal Oak" suite with a balcony, a commanding view of the sea, TV in the bath and plenty of space for a comfortable sofa and 2 chairs to relax in.
Although space might be at a premium in some of the smaller rooms, there is never a compromise when it comes to bedding. Every room has an uber-comfortable mattress, the best of bed linen and huge, fluffy bath towels.
We have a range of room sizes. Our smaller “cozy” rooms are beautifully furnished and contain everything that you may need and nothing that you don’t. Our larger rooms offer panoramic views and plenty of space to unwind and relax.
Downstairs the art-filled Snug, Sitting room and Drawing room with log fires in the winter months, will lure guests out of their bedrooms. A gramophone player, huge LP collection, board games, comfy sofas and great views will make it difficult to tear yourself away.
