Tucked into the gentle folds of Wiltshire countryside, the The Grosvenor Arms stands as a village landmark. Originally a coaching inn dating back to at least the 17th century, it was part of a network that served travellers moving along what was once a major route across southern England.
Whilst still serving travellers of the A303 today, Hindon itself has become a hidden gem for a rural getaway and exploring the wealth of local attractions like Stonehenge or Stourhead. Each of the nine en-suite bedrooms have supremely comfortable beds, eclectic artwork designed to compliment the pub’s character and thoughtful touches like homemade cookies and locally roasted coffee.
The kitchen leans into hearty, British fare, favouring locally sourced ingredients. Classic pub dishes sit alongside more inventive offerings, and the menu shifts with the seasons. Like the food, the atmosphere is deliberately unpretentious: roaring fires in winter, a terrace for summer afternoons, and a steady flow of locals and visitors alike passing through.
