Washingford House is situated six miles southeast of Norwich with its wealth of historical Cathedrals, Churches and buildings. Originally built in the 1600s, this elegant Grade 2 listed house stands on the edge of the conservation village of Bergh Apton. Situated amid the typical agricultural landscape of South Norfolk, the house is surrounded by ten acres of its own gardens and parkland and is a favourite haunt for many native birds. There are walks locally and the Wherryman's Way twelve circular walks are close by. Guests are welcome to use the tennis court and bicycles. There is also a trampoline for the more energetic among you!
There is one twin room with an en-suite bathroom (£75 for one night, £70 for two and £65 for three or more) and a single with its own bathroom next door. (£45,£40 and £35 respectively). There is also another twin room available with a loo and basin next door but the shower is a walk away and up another floor - guest dressing gowns provided! (£60, £55 and £50)
Bergh Apton is fortunate enough to have retained its own wonderful Post Office. Run by two brothers, it is likened to an Aladdin's Cave and some guests have made good inroads into their Christmas shopping from one visit! The shop is a two minute walk from the house.
