The Laurelbank Hotel, Glenrothes

The Laurelbank Hotel is a bit of an institution in Markinch, with a reputation for value and service.

So when we took over the hotel in January 2020, we wanted to return it to its roots, with a love of the town, its people and its traditions.

We like to think we offer an authentically Scottish feel. Nothing pretentious. Never pretending we are something we are not – and most importantly, not a faceless corporation.

We are genuine. We are local. We care.

Our food is fairly simple – but we like to think it’s a little bit special.

Our approach is much the same

If you are looking for a hotel in Glenrothes, our location in the quiet village of Markinch is absolutely perfect. Only a 5 minute walk from the train station and just a minute’s drive from the A92, make it ideal for business travellers or those looking to explore the East Neuk and the Kingdom of Fife.

All of our 11 rooms are ensuite, comfortable and cleaned to a high standard.

Each room has a flat-screen TV, desk and access to free Wi-Fi for when you need to check your emails or access the internet. And as you would expect, we also have tea and coffee making facilities.

We pride ourselves on our fantastic customer service ensuring that your stay is a home from home. Our 24 hour reception desk can attend to your every need – no matter what time of day it is.

Locally in Glenrothes there is the Rothes Hall theatre, Kino Cinema and the Town park which has lovely walks
