The Ellerby Country Inn, Staithes

Nestling in a quiet country setting eight miles from Whitby, The Ellerby Country Inn is ideally situated to place you within easy access of some of the country's most spectacular coastline, with numerous beautiful walks in Captain Cook country including The Cleveland Way. The coastline is also known as the dinosaur coast and is renowned for geological gems like Port Mulgrave, Runswick Bay and Staithes, all on The Ellerby doorstep.

We are also just a short drive away from the glorious North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Heartbeat country and The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway between Grosmont and Pickering. With a bus stop to Whitby and Middlesbrough right outside our front door, these beautiful places are within easy reach to go sightseeing.

The Ellerby is a lovely and relaxing place to stay. It is our aim that all of our guests leave feeling refreshed, well-fed and rested yet wanting to return. We have an excellent reputation for food and drink, using fresh local produce where possible. All residents are guaranteed a table in our busy 55 seater restaurant.

The 10 country inn bedrooms are individually furnished and all have en-suite facilities with Sky TV and free Wifi. We have seven bedrooms with super king beds (one is a disabled access bedroom), and the remaining three have king size beds. Three of the bedrooms are dog friendly. (Please note, dogs are allowed in dog friendly rooms, the resident lounge and in the garden. They are not permitted in the restaurant but are welcome in our bar area - thank you.) All rooms include a full breakfast.

The Ellerby has gift vouchers available for purchase, these can be used for meals or put towards a night in one of our rooms. They make an ideal present.
