Aperçu

Les Douvres Hotel, Guernsey is a former 18th century Manor House ideally situated in the quiet St Martins Parish, in the South-East corner of the island, and referred to by many visitors as the most beautiful part of Guernsey.

Set in its own private grounds and in an ideal position for exploring the magnificent Guernsey South Coast Bays and cliffs walks, with views extending as far as the nearby French Coast, with the Channel Islands of Herm, Jethou and Sark in the foreground. Despite extensive building works and refurbishments the Hotel's "Olde Worlde" character has been carefully retained. Children are most welcome.

Bedrooms are individually furnished with bespoke furniture and are designed to ensure you feel at home.


Histoire

Dating back to 1274 it has had various uses from being a smuggler retreat to a quaint manor house to one of the Bailiffs of Guernsey. It was used during the occupation by the Germans as a hospital.

Restauration et Boissons

The Restaurant is well known for its high standards and excellent cuisine. It features a varied Table d'Hote Menu covering a variety of English and Continental dishes. For guests on bed and breakfast terms or for that special occasion, offering a comprehensive Á La Carte featuring local Fresh Seafood and Flambé Specialities. An extensive wine list is available.

The Bar is situated on the ground floor and is of immense character with its "Olde Worlde" beams and original Date Stone displaying '1723'. Drinks are served throughout the day and evening and a comprehensive Bar Lunch Menu is available daily. As the bar is open to the public, guests are able to meet and chat with the "locals" in a most convivial atmosphere.

The swimming pool is situated in a sheltered sunny corner of the gardens. Sun-beds are provided and refreshments are served throughout the day when weather permits. The hotel is in an ideal position for a perfect holiday. It is within easy reach of the three most beautiful south bays of Moulin Huet, Petit Port and Saints.

Directions: From the Airport: Turn left onto Le Bourg, carry straight on, straight through the first set of traffic lights, straight along Forest Road. After you will come to another set of traffic lights. Go straight ahead just after then turn right. Straight down this road until you reach the next junction. Straight through again, and carry on down the road. At the next junction you will see the 'Bella Luce' Hotel, go right and follow this road. On the right, you will see Les Douvres Hotel.

By Bus: Route 6AS or 6S from a Bus Terminal in St. Peter Port. It takes around 10 minutes. The bus stop is just on the corner of the hotel called Saints Corner.
