Histoire

The house dates back to the 14th Century and has been a hotel since the 1940s. The house and gardens are Grade II listed and there is an abundance of original features including 15th Century beams, wattle and daub walls and a heritage orchard. Guests might recognise The Manor House from the original Dr Dolittle, filmed in Castle Combe in the 1960s.

The Manor House is set in 365 acres of woodland and parkland which includes sweeping lawns, the meandering Bybrook river, Grade II listed Italian gardens and a Championship golf course. There is a croquet lawn and tennis court with equipment available from Reception.

Wifi is available free of charge throughout the hotel and bedrooms. Luggage can be stored in the cloakroom at Reception. There is an 18 hole Championship course with tee times available to hotel residents from 11.00 each day (subject to availability). Pre-booking is strongly recommended. There is a croquet lawn and tennis court with equipment available from Reception. There is a treatment room in the gardens, The Potting Shed, offering massages and facials. Treatments start from £85.00 for 60 minutes, pre-booking is essential.
