Duchy House, Strand, London

All aspects of our stay were excellent and I will certainly book again next year. "Our" means my brother and myself, both in our mid-seventies. My brother has Alzheimers disease and I chose our accommodation carefully to minimize the strain on both of us. I had requested a quiet room, which we were given. The staff were extremely helpful allowing us to leave our luggage on both the first and final days of our stay, and answering all queries with patience and politeness.

I booked at short notice and picked an inside room; during a previous stay I found the noise too great with one overlooking the road. The room was basic but clean and quiet, and shared toilet/shower (also used by one other room) clean too. Shared kitchen functional but fine. Reception was very helpful and wifi worked well. Great location to access central London and a good option for budget-conscious visitors.

excellent location. Very friendly staff. one very noisy night due to resurfacing of the road outside and since it was the heatwave weekend we needed windows open. However these things can't be predicted or controlled. I was happy with the accomodation and location for what I was doing. Would certainly use again

The room was clean and comfortable and we had the use of the kitchen and fresh drinking water (very useful given the heat at that time). The young people on duty for very pleasant and helpful. We had a lovely view out onto the street. We will definitely come back when next on London.

glad I found Duchy House. great location, easy to find, friendly welcome, good value for money. my only criticism is the pillow, which was lacking in body! but I managed... ;)) its on my list of places to stay on my next visit. thanks very much Peter Wild

Good value for money and great location - easy walk (or bus) to tourist sites, theatres etc. or take a boat from Embankment. Rear facing room was very quiet but quite warm, grateful that electric fan was provided! Will definitely stay again.

Fantastic location. Really appreciated the laundry, kitchen, and common room. Fabulous storage. Would be nice to have a mirror above the sink for shaving, and to have some way to keep the bathroom door open.

Everything was great (comfortable and clean) and so simple to book. Only small point - didn't have a glass for water to take tablets at night.
