Aperçu

St George's College is a traditional style college established in 1931. With its historic building and magnificent Hackett Dining Hall, it makes a unique short-stay option for visitors to Perth, Western Australia.

The college offers single, twin and double rooms either with shared bathroom or private bathroom options. Located along the Swan River, it is close to the Perth CBD and has easy access via public transport.

The College is part of the University of Western Australia campus and a short walking distance to Reid Library, Winthrop Hall and other Faculties. The college is a perfect base to explore Perth and Fremantle.

Histoire

St George's College has a rich and proud history. After Western Australia gain self-government in 1890, Sir Winthrop Hackett, Archbishop Riley and Sir John Forrest worked to establish a university in Perth, which would become the University of Western Australia. Sir Hackett left funds to establish an associated college in the Oxbridge style. This marked the genisis of St George's College which opened in 1931.

Continental breakfast is included in room tariffs. Lunch and Dinner is also available with purchase of vouchers from the office during business hours or contact the college to pre-purchase vouchers. Meals are served cafeteria style from the servery.  Lunch and Dinner not available over Christmas & New Year's period. 

Espaces verts et alentours

The college is surrounded by beautiful gardens and features a rose garden in the front lawn. The central Quadrangle with its ivy covered walls and manicured lawns are reminisce of another era. Both the Swan River and King's Park are a short walk away and the very instagram worthy Blue Boat House is only a 5 min walk away.

Everything was seamless. Staff were so helpful, I was able to drop bags off early in the morning and pick up after hours when departing. Breakfast facilities were exactly what I needed to fuel me for the day's activities. Close to public transport, the CBD, parklands and the Swan River. Will return.

Only 7 mins via public transport from the CBD. Bus stops in front of the College. If driving, entrance is accessed east bound on Mounts Bay Road. Limited parking available. Check in at Administration in Rodgers Wing (Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm). If you are checking in after hours, please use duty phone located at Rodgers Wing to contact the Duty Manager.
