1. There are up to two rods on the Laxdale System available for visitors and four rods on the Fincastle System. These can be booked directly through the Estate Office.
2. It is important to note that the Estate always reserves the right for one rod on their fisheries.
3. Permits are issued in respect of one person only (unless otherwise stated) but do not give that person exclusive rights on any loch.
4. **Permits must be carried at all times while fishing.
5. All of the salmon and sea-trout fishing on Borve Lodge Estate is Fly Only.
6. ALL salmon and sea trout fishing is currently Catch & Release only. Fish may only be kept with the specific prior authority of the Estate.
7. Anglers are requested to measure (or estimate) the length of returned fish. There are conversion charts in Fincastle Store that allow you to estimate the fish's weight from its length.
8. At the end of each visit, all catch details must be reported to the Estate, either by entering them into the Game Fishing Logbook which is kept at the Fincastle Store, or by contacting the Estate Office. Nil returns are required
9. All anglers MUST wear a suitable lifejacket at all times when using boats and should avoid standing up while on the water. Lifejackets are available in the store.
10.Dogs are allowed but must be under full control or on a lead at all times. Owners must clean up after their dogs.
11. Anglers are reposible for ensuring they remove their litter from around the lochs, boats and store at the end of the day.
12. All anglers MUST comply with the GS conditions before commencing fishing, which is a mandatory requirement across all of the Outer Hebrides. The form will be sent to you in your booking confirmation, and is also available from the Western Isles DSFB website here. The conditions are:
12.1 - confirm that your tackle has not been used outside the UK in the last 7 days, or
12.2 - confirm that your tackle has been properly sterilised using one of the approved methods, and
12.3 - complete and return the GS Declaration form to the Estate Office before fishing - you are not permitted to fish until this form has been returned to the Estate office in person or via email.
12.4 - by purchasing a ticket to fish you accept that you will comply with this conditions.
